punk has many subgenres... i could say something like "pennywise? if you want punk, listen to bad brains" and it would be just as silly.

One of those subgenres is pop-punk.
I can survive with people who associate blink 182 with punk music, but it's the ones who have never heard anybody other than Blink 182, Good Charlotte or Sum 41 that I'm refering to as goofy.

On a side note I heard somebody refer to Avril Lavigne as the next punk princess on TV.

Skoorb, you got balls posting that because most punk fans are time bombs ready to go off. I hate Blink and wish all the members would be tortured in front of their fans. They make the most pointless music in the world. They don't know what emotional pain is nor do they know what real music is. Listen to some Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division, Garbage, The Dandy Warhols or VAST. Those are/were the real artists that were in touch with the real feeling of depression and gloominess. Pink Floyd (Roger Waters at least) really had amazing music, mostly The Wall. I want to kick all the teenagers that support these "punk" bands because they stereotype all teenagers into shallow, Godless people. That's all for me, I'm officially pissed again.

funny thing happened during the warped tour.

during the last 2 sets, it was NFG, followed by NOFX the stages they were playing on were right next to one another. While there was a huge lot of fans watching/listening to NFG, a huge mass of them basically turned their backs to them and waited for NOFX to take the stage. the whole while telling NOFX to take the stage. When NFG started playing "my friends over you" the whole nofx crowd booed the living daylights outta nfg, and started throwing crap at them. i found this ridiculously hilarious. i have never heard nofx before and that was my first time i've ever seen em, i must say, their fans are loyal...anywho...i thought NOFX kicked ass, at the same time so did NFG, i mean pop-punk is very catchy and very upbeat...i mean i wouldn't say its great music...but its something to bang your head to once in a while cuz its so catchy...

blink...their old stuff...wow...its nothing like what they have out now, although i think their latest album started to resemble what they used to sound like...enema of the state...bad...TOYAJ....not too bad...Dude Ranch? effing awesome
