About 7-9 years ago, BF was actually a pretty good time for slick dealers. We were getting some pretty incredible deals and it was worth staying up for. Amazon, Dell, Target, Walmart, Newegg, etc. seemed like they were just throwing money away to gain traction. IIRC, AOL once gave away $50 digital gift cards to Amazon just for your email address. I got $150 in free stuff that way. Other guys were in the thousands. Dell would have these 70-90% off price mistake/coupon stacking deals that were mind blowing. One year I got high end Canon cameras and lenses at 90% off from them, like $2500 L lenses for $250. That was just crazy.
But then it got killed by it's own popularity. People started waiting in lines days in advance, people went in just to resell, and most deals were similar to what you could get any time of the year. Now you can get iPads, Blu rays, TVs, and some knick knacks cheaper on BF than normal, but that's about it.
