Newegg has some really good deals on SSDs right now. 480GB SanDisk Ultra 2 is $109, 500GB Samsung EVO is $150 with free AC:Syndicate. I'm waiting until tomorrow to see if they drop lower.

omg, i bought the 850 EVO 500gb a few months ago for 160$! with no assassins creed!

You mean I've been waiting in line at BestBuy for two days for no apparent reason, WTF?

I don't approve of stores opening on Thursday afternoon now. I used to drive by Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart on my way home from dinner and laugh at the suckers camped out for a chance to save $50 on an off-brand TV. Now the lines are gone. That's one of my most enjoyable holiday traditions shot all to hell.

About 7-9 years ago, BF was actually a pretty good time for slick dealers. We were getting some pretty incredible deals and it was worth staying up for. Amazon, Dell, Target, Walmart, Newegg, etc. seemed like they were just throwing money away to gain traction. IIRC, AOL once gave away $50 digital gift cards to Amazon just for your email address. I got $150 in free stuff that way. Other guys were in the thousands. Dell would have these 70-90% off price mistake/coupon stacking deals that were mind blowing. One year I got high end Canon cameras and lenses at 90% off from them, like $2500 L lenses for $250. That was just crazy.

But then it got killed by it's own popularity. People started waiting in lines days in advance, people went in just to resell, and most deals were similar to what you could get any time of the year. Now you can get iPads, Blu rays, TVs, and some knick knacks cheaper on BF than normal, but that's about it.

Yep, really went downhill, now he retailers have custom built POS TV's just for BF, it's ridiculous.

And the whole "Let's act like animals over $100 in savings" is just embarrassing as a species.

There are sometimes good deals, but my rule is to not really go shopping on Black Friday, but if I actually do need something, then I wait till Black Friday or Boxing Day to see if it goes on sale. If you buy something just because it was on sale, then you lost, and got sucked into the trap. This world is ridiculously consumerist these days. Don't fall for that stuff.
