she's your ex gf and you still banged her?

That's what they're there for.

And I've always heard you should wait.

You got that right lol. I think 5 days was enough time to get through her system. I didn't go in her and were talking about a heavy chlorinated spa here.

That is NOT how birth control works.

You have to wait 1 full cycle, because she may have still released an egg.

She should have started it the first Sunday after her period. Why did she start it 5 days prior?

She followed the directions perfectly. She started the first pill the day she got her period. It was what her doctor told her to do. She has a morning after pill laying around, think I should just have her take that to be safe? Will it mess up the regular pill she is taking though? Also, I know precum can get a girl pregnant, but I just dont see how it would survive in the conditions we were in.

Okay so it IS pills. Get those directions, and type them here for us. Show us where it says she is to start the pill when her period starts. And find out which brand of pill it is. If she takes the morning after pill, it's like taking a week's worth of pills at the same time, which causes her uterine lining to quickly build up and shed - basically preventing the egg from implanting. If she took it, she's probably real sick right now (PMS x100). As far as the chlorinated spa water - sperm live in an alkaline (semen). Chlorine is an alkaline. Many of those little guys will survive, but will be genetically damaged - so not only do you have possibility of pregnancy, but now possibility of a deformed baby. Not to mention risking a bad vaginal yeast and urinary tract infection from changing her PH (usually acidic) and killing the beneficial bacteria (acidopholus).

I wish I had more time to finish my knowthepill.com site. 🙁

Not exactly true. The morning after pill doesn?t prevent implantation. If it did it would d be an antiabortion pill. The morning after pill actually prevents fertilization thus it keeps its birth control status.

In regards to the original post. You could get her pregnant from sex even w/o ejaculation. It is not likely but it could happen. I would have called planned parenthood and asked them. Most likely they would have had her get the morning after pill. This will screw up her hormones for as least a month but could be a couple. (when my gf went on the pill she bled for over 3 weeks and then didn't have a period for another 6-7 weeks)

The morning after pill doesn?t prevent implantation.

Actually, that's one of the things it does do.

this has been the most rediculous post ive seen in a while. I know this is preaching, but please become more informed before engaging in such life altering activities.

You are fully protected 7 SEVEN days after beginning birth control pills (ortho tri-cyclen); not a month like most people have said. Given the fact that you did not ejaculate inside her, the odds of her being pregnant are low when combined with the fact that she has been on the pill for 5 days. You probably have little to worry about, the chances are very low <1%. But there are no promises and she could be pregnant.

edit: the chlorinated pool is not going to cause genetic mutation in the sperm as was stated above, most sperm will die from the chloronation. This is a terrible thing to say that the child will be gentically damaged, that is just not going to happen from the chlorine. Sperm are incredibly weak when placed into anything other than ejactulate fluid. In fact, many sperm die quickly from the harsh environment of the vagina. The fact that it is an alkaline solution is totally irrelivant. Chlorine kills most living microorganisms, hence its use in pools/ hottubs.

I must be paranoid, because even when my ex was on the pill I still wrapped it up.

Ditto.

YEP times 100.

BiorthControl is NOT 100% and it does NOTHING for STDs. Condoms PLUS birth control is safest short of nothing.

Everything that I've read says at least 30 days to be totally sure, but it can start being effective before that.

It can start being effectve after 7 days, but you cannot be sure until after 30 days when the cycle is complete because not all pills will work on all people......

Yup this is what ive heard also

You're supposed to wait a month before you have sexual relations, and if you still do beforehand you must do it with protection meaning use a condom.
