Good, keep it up. There is a good chance the last night of your life will also be one when you were drinking excessively.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I don't drive drunk and I couldn't even imagine the feat of strength it would take for me to get alcohol poisoning--that is quite simply not going to happen because I don't have the ability to ingest that much booze without puking, nor do I have the desire to ingest that much. I don't think you understand how much it would take for a 200 pound male to be poisoned.

Your other argument that all accident-related deaths are increased due to drinking and thus drinking should be avoided, well that is pathetic. I may as well not go dirtbiking or snowboarding or walk down the street because my chance of death will increase.

I will keep it up, and if I die doing something stupid while drunk then so be it. It will have been worth the other great times I've had in cities around the world getting plastered with new friends and old.

I advocate avoiding BINGE drinking. WTF is it about that specific point I have not made clear? I hope you do understand by now that I am not saying alcohol poisoning is the only way that a person who has had excessive amounts to drink could kill themselves. But, whatever, I hope if/when your time comes you only kill yourself and don't hurt anybody else in the process. If you wanna go out like that, more power to ya.

because drinking increases your chance of dying? Give me a break

Excessive drinking (as stated in the thread topic), yes. Because A) it's unhealthy if practiced more than very occasionally and B) you're a lot more likely to do something stupid that results in your (or worse. . .somebody else's) death. Do you really need this spelled out for you? What are you, stupid? Never heard of alcohol poisoning? Think it never happens? Read the post right before this one. . .

lmao, you can tell who never drinks because they get blinded and brainwashed by the MADD commercials, stop being so uptight baby.

Yeah man, you're so cooooool. /sarcasm
Never said I was, just pointing out how ridiculously over zealous people on this forum are. Thats the hard thing about hanging out at a technical forum where many people probably havent ever drank any alcohol or partied much, they just dont understand or resent those that do and get on the offensive (like you and the other gentleman).

MMmmm, I see you've got me in a corner here.

I've been around plenty of retard drunks and druggies in the past. I do live PA electronic sets for parties and clubs, and I used to do raves twice a week back before that died off. Hell, they still happen once in a while. I'm probably an exception to your "infallible" rule that all people on a tech forum are lame ass fatties living alone and playing WoW.

Sorry, I'm just not that guy.

What I AM however, is someone who's probably been around far more drunks and rollers in one weekend than you have in the past 4 years, and I can tell you from experience... These people are not intelligent, they're not cool, they're not special, and they almost ALWAYS get what's coming to them.

There is something wrong with people who enjoy abusing their bodies or drugs/poisons. I'm fortunate that I figured this shit out back when I was 16 years old, rather than now or later, possibly after years of surmounting damage. I'd rather live to party, than "party" and then die young... What exactly is so great about loosing control or putting undue stress on your liver? That's not fun, at least in my opinion.

2) Benefits are fabricated to justify irresponsible behavior.
3) That cute girl actually does like me better when I'm drunk, and she is too. Too bad she's actually 300lbs. And not really a girl.

fixed.

Funny how even in your original unedited wording you said that cute girl likes you when you're drunk "and she is too." So basically you can't score with sober chicks or when you aren't drunk? Getting a chick drunk is the only way you can get laid? Is that what you're saying? That's what it sounds like to me.

I love how people claim they've 'been there, done that, drank more than you have in x amount of years,' etc. That means nothing. Just because you made friends with idiots doesn't mean I am an idiot for drinking. Especially if you only experienced that lifestyle as a teenager, that is when people are at their dumbest because they are doing it for the first time and your so-called 'experience' means squat.

And how can you even make that claim? While I would assume I've been around more people and had more experience with these things than most all of you, there is no way I can make that claim because I have no idea who any of you jackasses are.

I don't see how you could misinterperet, as it is sitting right there for you to read over, but I'll help. I'm saying "That cute girl actually does like me better when I'm drunk, and she is too. " I've not written anything about women, me, and the absence of alcohol.

There is nothing wrong with chubby sex.

So rather than spouting a bunch of trash about opportunity cost, why don't you enlighten us, oh great ahurtt? What happened that was so terrible in your past, that you think any binge drinking is a death wish?

We're not over-zealous. You're just exceedingly immature.
hah, says the guy who basically laid it out that if you drink you are likely to kill someone. Get an education.

You are a total hand-job buddy. . .Here it is again. . .what I am saying is If you BINGE drink (meaning you are sloppy shitfaced drunk) you are MORE likely to kill yourself or someone else. Look me in the eye with a straight face and tell me that is not a fact.

it is cool for most people at one time in their lives. most people grow out of it.

it's only cool for me a couple times per year. i don't enjoy it but being hungover is just the price you pay sometimes.

i drank last Friday but didn't overdo it. i also like to mix with other stuff so i would never concentrate on booze alone. booze is just way too rough on my body and mind, even at age 32. frankly, it literally HURTS the next day if i drink too much. not like it did in university either. i used to be able to stay up all night and not be too much worse for wear. now if i drink or am out past 12, i am likely to chuck a sicky the next day.

edit: oh i don't even know if my definition of binge drinking is what you guys are talking about. what i meant was getting really drunk one night, not several in a row if that is what binge drinking is. i've only done that for weekend-long drunk fests in my early 20s.

I could make the same argument about somebody dicking around with a cell phone while driving.

haha....yes, the chance goes from .000000001% to .0000000011%. You're right though, it is indeed higher. No one denies that, just your pompous "there is 0 reward" and "theres a good chance when you die you'll have been binge drinking" and the other crap you're spewing.

I have drank more in my lifetime than you will drink in 5 lifetimes probably. I've been there, done that, and I gotta say, looking back I can't think of a single way in which the experience enriched my life or the lives of any of the people I knew then or whom I know now. Binge drinking is plain stupid. I can say that not because I never drank before. I can say that from experience. Lots and lots of experience.

so it seems you're coming from a standpoint of someone who doesn't know how to stop at the reasonable level. no need to generalize your experience.

go to any city on a Friday or Saturday night and look for the most successful/well-rounded/sociable/educated/etc people - they're probably out drinking at a restaurant or bar. it's something that's been happening since ancient Greece. do you think Plato and Aristotle were teetotalers? no chance.

are you serious? this is pretty quantifiable.

<--excessive drinker, btw. so don't give me any crap about being prudish.

apparently tempers are a bit flared here, I will consent to no more arguing on my behalf. To each their own I say and anyone who drives while drunk is an idiot but there is nothing wrong with those who drink and keep their keys away.

Why waste my breath? You aren't listening and you don't care. I'm not going into the nitty-gritty details of my private personal past on a public internet forum. Here's how it would go. . .something like this:

Me: "details details details"

T3h Intarweb: "YOU SUCK LOSER! We are not you! What happened to you can't happen to me! I am invincible!"

Why would subject myself to that? I've said what I had to say and had it misinterpreted enough in this thread already by a bunch of douche-nozzles who only hear what they want to. Go ahead, binge drink to your hearts content. Learn for yourself what can happen. It's what most people are going to do anyway regardless of what anybody says to them. So, it really doesn't matter.

then go ahead and do it. Please tell me how I'm more likely to die on a day when I'm drinking than any other day. Do most people die while drinking than when sober? Take drunk driving out of it since I don't do it.

Lawlz. Way to stroke your ego 😉

And it doesn't take much for a 200 pound male to be poisoned. All it takes is someone switching the vodka with everclear in a batch of jungle juice and someone going to town on it.

Well, why post as much as you have in this topic, if you don't care? What do you think is more effective, a bunch of generalized, grossly exaggerated statements, or an actual account of something that happened?

I don't get the idea of getting drunk to begin with. But that might just me. I don't want to do anything which may compromise the mental controls and discipline which I've worked over the years to implement. It just seems rather stupid, or possibly pointless (still not the right word) to "need" to become impaired by a toxin in order to be able to have crazy/unscripted fun. I don't like the increasingly irrational and erratic behavior of those who are drunk.

I already said like 3 or 4 pages ago in this thread. . .go look up the annual number of all reported alcohol related deaths in the U.S. Chances are that almost ALL of them would have been avoided had the person who died not been drinking or been around someone (intentionally or accidentally) who was. . .Sure some of them might have ended up dying for other unrelated reasons anyway. . .but not most of them. Instead of pulling fractional percentages out of your ass, go look it up. Alcohol KILLS MOTHAFVCKAS!! Congratulations, you have now completely talked yourself in circles. We are back to page 1. Literally.

the american definition of binge drinking is what i (and others) are referring to: ~5+ drinks in a night.

the only time i'd look down on someone for his drinking is if he's vomiting on himself at a bar or otherwise harming/bothering others.
