Car sounds killer with exhaust and header! Can't wait till I get my tuner on Wednesday to really unleash her!

P.P.S. Car currently has 25% tints and I am going to black out the head and tail lights.

1- Got a video of the sound/change in sound?
2- Might as well finish up the ricer look with the headlights and tailights tinted. It'll match well

Black out the headlights? You know that stuff reduces the amount of light that passes through, right?

...Aren't the point of headlights to ILLUMINATE THE ROAD SO YOU CAN SEE WHERE YOU'RE GOING?!

I am getting LaminX smoke tints for the headlights, they only reduce light output by 5% and I've already countered that by installing Sylvania Silverstar headlamps which are about 25-50% brighter than stock.

So yeah, I already thought of that.

Those lightbulbs don't actually increase your light output. It just changes the color to fool stupid people into thinking its MAD BRITE YO.

Yeah.. about that. I used Silverstar ultras, noticed an increase. Then I got some Osram Silverstars, and they were WAAY better than Stock and the Ultras..

I was thinking about building a custom ECU computer for my car. My friend did it on his Civic and he cann control virtually any parameter from his laptop. He used a cheap Sempron, 1Gb of RAM and a 16Gb SSD. What do you guys think?

I believe he was able to get a 20-30HP increase his totally stock Civic just tuning everything up right.

I mean this in the sincerest way possible: you've got a lot of learning to do before you start messing with the ECU and melting your engine, I wouldn't recommend it. Stick with canned flash tune for now, that's good for 20-30 HP in most cars, mostly because the safe stock tune is needed to pass validation tests for engines which are ridiculous and far exceed what any engine will see in the real world.

But if you really insist, and just want to spend your money and sound cool, the Hydra Nemesis is probably the most popular true DIY ECU. Hope you know more about computers and electronics and soldering and signals than you do about cars :) I guarantee you won't actually legitimately need it until you start approaching and exceeding 400-500 HP (ie: after you've racked up an honest $10,000 in engine work and can't go any further). Today's OEM ECUs are pretty flexible and really only lack map resolution.

Apparently neither of you read that link. The Silverstar's are crap and while a proper high wattage bulb will help, you need upgraded wiring to deliver full voltage to the bulb.

Apparently you didnt read my post, where i said my silverstars suck.. Osram Silverstars != Silverstars that you can get here

I'll let you know how hopeless they are if I can find one to test drive.

Make sure to turn the traction control off for teh lolz and get it on video. Official 0-60 is only 5.6 s, I wonder why :awe:

Damn, I've been looking at that RS500, never imagined a little Focus giving me a woody.

no need for upgraded wiring with bulbs you should be running on the street.

I use Navra Rangepower +50's and Osram Night Breaker +90
CPI Gold Selective Yellow for fogs, I like the GE Tungsrams better but they don't make them in H3.

wiring is stock and more than adequate.
