Does anyone know if EB still give $25 trade-in credit for an unopened Sega GT/JSRF that comes with the XBox. Would be nice if I could trade this in for Unreal Championship and just pay tax. I have yet to open the game since I think JSRF sux.

I just called my local EB B&M (Portland, Or.) and they confirmed that the in-store price is $24.99 for Unreal Championship. The guy told me that this deal is going to be on for the next two weeks and then it will go back to regular price.

I think I will make a trip out to get one tonight. ;)

"The Thing" Can actually be had for 14.99 at EB b&m (9.99 if you're lucky like me......guy read the coupon wrong :) )

The sheet that has the coupon for serious sam, etc, also has a coupon for $5 off 1 game, or $10 off two, one of which is "The Thing"

I was in Target today and noticed that Shenmue II was reduced to $29.99. It didnt have a clearance or sale tag on it. Just a regular yellow sticker that said "was 49.99 now 29.99" I have an unopened Madden 2003 that I bought from them but want to return, so I figure I'll swing by tomorrow and make the exchange.

Can anyone tell me what they think of the game and whether I should exchange for it. If it sux then I'll exchange Madden for 007: Nightfire instead.

Naturally since it's a Target store, YMMV, but mebbe you'll have it too.

Shenmue 2 is a very good game, but a little dated in graphics. Nightfire is more valuable if you have lots of multiplayer opportunities however.

as long as they dont have an insane amount already traded in, they should accept it

$15 is what they quoted me about a month ago when my friend bought his XBOX.

... except the voice acting is so insanely horrible that it makes the ear bleed. It's odd that I rarely hear people mention this, and I was fooled into thinking Shenmue 1 featured great voice acting back in the DC days (a lot of the game consisted of talking to different people to get clues on what to do next). Besides that, the rest of the game is great, but because talking is so crucial to the mood and feel of a game that tries to give a movie-like experience, it's enough to sway me from touching it with a 10 foot pole. Get the European version for your DC if you can, that way you won't be bothered by the voice acting (except for the fact that everyone you meet in Hong Kong speaks japanese) because everything is in Japanese, you also get to enjoy the game on a platform that the creator intended for.

You will thank yourself if you get Shenmue II. Trust me, there will likely never be another company or game designer as crazy as Sega/Yu Suzuki to spend upwards of $90 million on creating the most amazing video game series ever. The game transcends traditional video game genres and has impact than most movies could hope to have. Watch the DVD movie that is included in the box, then play the game slowly and patiently(it may feel slow in the beginning to some players). Enjoy everything the game offers you, because you'll miss it when it's all over.

As for the graphics being a little dated, that is true. Yet, no game has since attempted to create a world so realistic and detailed in a video since. I still feel that no other game has the sort of facial detail that Shenmue/Shenmue II has. When Shenmue III comes out we'll get to see what these guys can really do with the Xbox's capabilities, and given the amount of work that has gone into recreating parts of Japan/Hong Kong it will be mind blowing.

Speaking as someone that has both the DC and the Xbox version, I can say honestly that the voice acting is not bad at all. The main characters actually were acted very well in English. Consider Lishao Tao for example, her english voice actor did a great job. Many people complain that the voice acting is cold and unemotional, others will argue that the translation remains faithful to the cold/terse nature of the Japanese language. Another thing to realize is that had Shenmue II come out on DC for the US market then it would have featured english voice acting on the console the creator intended it for. If after you play Shenmue II and feel you like the game enough to want to play it with the original Japanese vocals, then go ahead get the European DC version. That having been said, I really like the extras in the Xbox version (even though I thought I wouldn't). The fact that you can have 10 save slots is amazing to help save all your most memorable spots to play them again, the camera really helps preserve memories of special moments and cutscenes, and in my case I got more emotionally involved in the game with the english voice acting.

In any case, for $29.99 you all should really get this game. They spent over $90 million on this series, and I say it was money well spent.

New deal at playcentric.com

Capcom Vs Snk 2: EO for 28.90
shipping is 2.99 for 3rd class, 3.99 for 1st class.

Seems like this way is cheaper or at least the same compared to the canadian store mentioned. (they raised the price to 31 dollars)
This way you get it in about 5 business days instead of 20 days with the free shipping.

Just in case someone wants to play this game on XBOX live :)

I've only heard the voice acting for the demo of the 2nd game and it's ok. The first one to me was inconsistent, varying from good to poor (little kids), but overall I was fine with it.

I kind of want to get the XBOX version but I already own the Europena DC version and never got around to playing it.

For $30. it's a great deal though.

I have a question on the trade in two games to get the DOA Volleyball game for $9.99. Do they have to be XBox games, or can one be a PS2 or GC game? I want to get rid of Wreckless....game wasn't worth the $5 I paid for it. Would also like to ditch Xtreme-G 3 for my PS2, got it for $7 at Fry's and never play it......if I could dump those and pick up DOA for $9.99 that would be great :D If not....anybody know if Serious Sam is still only $10 at EB? cuz I'll pick that up for this deal if it is.

Serious Sam should still be $19.99 - $10 off coupon (found in store). $10 off coupon runs through end of the month.

I went to Gamestop to see about the trade-in deal on Sunday and the clerk said that the only exceptions for trade-in were 2002 and earlier sports titles. I asked about wrestling games and he said that they were fine.

Since I don't have any old PS2 games to trade, my g/f's dad gave me his copy of Silent Scope and after verifying the deal at GS, went over to the Target in the same shopping center to look for these mythical "$4.88 games". Either you guys like in Fantasyland or you don't know how good you've got it, cuz here in the Real World, the cheapest they had was "Racer Revenge" for $13.88. Ugh.

Playing a hunch, I went back to Gamestop and looked thru the user PS2 games and found a few losers for $8. I picked one up and went to the counter and asked the clerk, "What's to stop me from buying this game and immediately trading it back for the $20 credit?" He said, "Well...nothing. Some of the employees figured this out, but you're the first customer to ask about it."

So, I traded Silent Scope, bought the other game for $7.20 plus tax (w/ GameStop discount card) and promptly flipped it back for DOA XBV. My end cost will be ~$18.25. BAM!!! Interesting note: Someone said that games traded had to be worth more than $5, but the receipt clearly mentioned how much was added to the regular trade value - Silent Scope would've brought only $5 and the one I picked off the shelf would've garnered only $3.

Here's the kicker - as my g/f and I left, another clerk was shelving games by the door and as we passed, he turned and (I'm not making this up!) softly APPLAUDED:Q and said, "Well played." Man, when you've got the CLERKS applauded your pimpage, that's trey cool!!!

Picked up UC at EB. I had $5 credit there, so I got it for $20. I had a question maybe someone could answer. I have 3 of the $5 BB gc's that they send you as part of the rewards program. Can I use them at the same time? They do say may be combined with other offers. I was thinking of going to BB on Friday, getting Panzer and adding something to make my checkout over $50. Then using my 10% off 50 cust appreciation coupon (ends 1/24) and using all 3 of $5 gc's to walk out the door paying roughly $35.

Which would be good for a 110% PM at BB for an extra $1 off, making it $8.99!

Panzer Dragon Orta seemed incredibly short, but pretty good.

Anyway, this really isn't a deal but I want feedback on which game is better. I'm trying to decide which NCAA football game to get. I think I will try to find a rental place out of town (none in town) and rent both. It seems as though all the reviews I have read of NCAA 2K3 (Sega) and NCAA College Football (EA) they don't make either seem that much different. In the Sega game, it seems as though the player models are more detailed than the EA version. The EA version seems as though the croud and "extras" (cheerleaders, mascots, etc) are more detailed/there, whereas the Sega version skips over these. I wouldn't think gameplay would be incredibly different. I'd appreciate any feedback, thanks.
