Any cover by Blur is horrible. As much as I like that band, they really need to stay away from covering anyone's song.

These Boots are Made for Walking - Whats her face. Willie Nelson should be embarrassed.

Who did the Alannis Morreset remake several years ago? I heard it a couple of times and thought it wasn't too bad.

What makes you say Nirvana sucks?

Just not a fan. They're way overrated. Their songs just weren't that great. Dave is much better off with Foo Fighters.

geesh...that's funny...I was thinking you were gonna say you liked the Foo Fighters....

What does that have to do with not liking Nirvana?

Lots of remakes on Nirvana's MTV Unplugged CD, love every one of them.

Are you talking about 1000 Mona Lisa's cover of "You Oughta Know"?
That one is definitely one of my favorite covers.

I didn't think that one was too bad, just completely unnecessary. It does, of course, pale in comparison to the original.

Another good one: No Doubt - Come On Eileen

I'll bet dollars to donuts that's Save Ferris and not No Doubt.

yeah, it's Save Ferris, and it's spectacular.

i like Erasure's ABBA covers, along with Iron and Wine's version of "Such Great Heights"

i don't like Guns n Roses' cover of "Since I Don't Have You" but i love Brian Setzer's version.

Reel Big Fish made that awesome cover of "Take On Me"

i agree with Madonna's "American Pie" to be one of the worst covers ever.

there was that crappy-ass boy band (BBMak was it?) that covered "More Than Words" as well. that blew.

Shadows Fall's remake of Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine" was pretty good

Children of Bodom's cover of the Scorpion's "Don't Stop at the Top" was great.
but
CoB's cover of Alice Cooper's "Bed of Nails" wasn't so hot.

They're also doing a cover of Brittany Spears' "Oops I did it again" on their next album, this one should be interesting.

Did nobody mention Jessica Simpson and Nick Lache's "Take My breath Away"?

Whether or not you like the song you have to admit, if there was one song in the history of songs that never ever needed a remake because it was so perfectly done the first time, it was "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin.

A couple of more bad ones:

Someone recently did a remake of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie's classic "Under Pressure".. I thought it was horrible because not only did they just sound like a cheap alternative hack, they succeeded in removing all the emotion from the original song that made it great in the first place.

Second is Alien Ant Farm's remake of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". Gah.

The worst has to be Cheryl Crows remake of "Sweet Child O' Mine" of GnR
