Yep. Every time I see someone nominate Pearl Harbor as one of the best war-movies, I feel compelled to tell them to go watch Tora Tora Tora if they want to see a REAL war-movie about the Pearl Harbour!
Electric Amish is the only other person with any war flick class!!!
Kelly's Heroes has to be one of the best of all times....
and The Dirty Dozen.
These are great flicks...Don't get me wrong...Saving Private Ryan is right up there...but don't count out these golden oldies.

I kinda liked None but the Brave. I'm a Clint Walker fan though, now that's a man's man. I don't have a favorite really, I lub all the oldies, Operation Burma, Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heros, The Great Escape (awesome movie).
I think the best from a technical/realism point is Tora Tora Tora. Just incredible looking. I think my favorite scene outta any war movie is in TTT where there are a couple of Zeros flying just over the water, and it gets hit and the way the explosion, engine, and plane falling into the ocean sound are just remarkable.

I also liked Deer Hunter, to a lesser extent, and Gettysburg was a good depiction of that battle.
