Quake II and III. Screw Halo and Battlefield and all those other generic war games; these two had class.

Quake II was a great game. I played it for a solid year. Quake III was nothing but added eye candy.

Battlefield 1942 is NOT a generic war game. It was revolutionary in the way it took the standard FPS genre and added so much more with the ability to operate so many different kinds of vehicles in so many ways. The amazing thing is that they were able to balance the game so no one vehicle or class has a distinct advantage over all the others. There is so much variety in BF that it has kept thousands of people intensely occupied for almost 2 years now.

Spend 5 minutes running halfway across the map.
Try to spot the enemy.
Get run over by some sod in a tank.
Get in a tank.
Spend 5 minutes driving halfway across the map.
Get blown up by some sod in a plane.

NEXT :p

Quake III is so polished and so perfect that nothing will ever surpass it in my book. This is best game ever, not most revolutionary :p

I find that rocketing some guy in mid-air with a complete fluke shot is far more satisfying than shooting a tank with another tank. Those games are just too slow and repetitive for me.

My personal favorite would have to be FF2 (US). Not saying it's the best, but it's the one I enjoyed most. 3 & 7 (both US), GTA1, Zelda 1 & the one for the SNES and Starcraft all get honorable mention though.

LOL.
It's not my fault you're the one getting killed instead of doing the killing.:D
I will admit though that when I first started playing BF, there were a few maps that seemed too big. But after playing a couple times, you figure out where to spawn and where the vehicles are.

It's definitely a slower paced game than Quake/UT games. But it is definitely NOT nearly as repetitive as Quake. Everyone has their own opinion though.
But regardless of what you or I think, Battlefield 1942 was hugely popular and won all kinds of awards.

Super Metroid is my personal favorite. Nothing else quite comes close, although I was glad to see my expectations for Prime were far off; Metroid made an excellent transition to 3D.

NO, its seriously not fun man, more gay actually. Its like if you were to watch a gay porn it would be like that but with grenades

Btw i know you guys are bashing the Halo but thats probably b/c you have never played the multilplayer sys. link or online. i would think it sucked if i have never either but when you know how to play it is insanely fun especially when you are good like me.

Its not hard, all you need its a hub/router and atleast three ethernet cables, AND learn how to host it will be 10 times better
