(4) A Legacy would do fine in the snow as would a any of those pickups (as long as you have some weight in the bed)

best based on longevity??
which model legacys have v6's?I wouldnt mind a wagon even...tho i cannot and will not afford a new subaru.(something maybe 2-5 years old depending on mileage, condition, etc.)

(1) On longevity, I'd have to go with the Tacoma. Toyota pickups are pretty much bullet-proof, they are of excellent quality, and their resale value is EXCELLENT (for the aforementioned reasons). You don't have high resale value like that for being a crap truck;)

(2) Subaru doesn't make a V6, they make a flat-6. You can get a flat-6 in the Legacy, but only in the $30,000+ models.

the only thing that rusts quicker than a jeep is a toyota truck :D:beer:

Closely followed by nissan what a P.O.S

Theres a v4 under the hood of my 90 legacy....
Negative. It's an H4. 2.2L SOHC 16V EFI 130hp

Since the '70s, the only time that Subaru ever deviated from the boxer engine design was with the crappy and short-lived I3 Justy.

Legacy models are larger and more refined than the Subaru Loyale. They rode on a 101.6-inch wheelbase, 4.4-inches longer than before. Both the sedan and wagon arrived in L and LS trim levels, with either front-wheel drive or permanently engaged 4-wheel drive (all-wheel drive, or AWD). All models used a 130-horsepower 2.2-liter flat (horizontally opposed) 4-cylinder engine with four-valves-per-cylinder heads. The new Subaru engine could be paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes were standard on all models. Antilock brakes were optional on AWD LS models and on AWD L models with the Value Plus Option Package.

As for the horizontally opposed engines there is two differant views. Most people agree that it is a flat 4 or 6 engine, similar to a inline cylinder design on its side. A few, mostly engineers, perfer to call it a 180 degree V4 or V6.

I don't care as long as your money is green, I will fix it.

The Yamaha V8 is a piece of sh!t. Owners are suing Ford over it.

Yahama has a V8? I thought only the V6 was a Yahama, while the 3.4L V8 used in the later SHOs were all-Ford.

In any case, I  the SHO Engine (and the car). Have you guys seen it in the engine bay or heard it past 6k RPM??? drooooooooooooooooooool.

edit: anyone have any opinions on the 1.8L V6 used in the Mazda MX3? It seems like an interesting little engine.
