I haven't played SupCom enough to really an informed decision, but it seemed to me just like crank out a ton of units and attack. Didn't seem to matter much what you produce. Are there any units with special abilities like a Zerg Queen or Defiler, or a Protas Arbitrer?

Which of the Big 3 out right now (CoH, C&C3, SupCom) focuses the least on the micromanagement side of resources and the like?
I don't mind micromanagement of my units, but keeping track of the minutia of how my base runs doesn't hold my interest.
Any opinions?

Your best bet is C&C3. Total macromanagement. That followed by Supreme Commander.
CoH would be the least best treatment for your micro phobia.

Yeah try SupCom, although I'd rather play C&C3, a game that doesn't pretend to have strategy than a game that does pretend, but fails in that respect.

Is the cheating and tank spamming as bad as people make it out to be in C&C3 online?

I have no idea. I played the demo, and I thought it was classic and good, but didn't buy the game.
Everything tends to be exaggerated in the PC world, so maybe. But I have no idea.![]()
I'm really really stoked for Medieval 2 Kingdoms though.

Look, I've spent a lot of time playing C&C 3: I didn't just give the demo a whirl. I'm the guy who can pick up gameplay techniques and see what gives. I also read on "teh interwebs" using my eyes to pick up text and my brain to analyze it.
This process, commonly alluded to as thinking, has helped me deduce that yes, C&C3 would be better for you, because it does not pretend to have strategy, as opposed to a game that puts on heavy makeup, pretending she's the girl of your dreams.
Either way, Company of Heroes pwns both, and yes, I have that game.
SC is like most other RTS games really. It's art design is the only thing keeping it alive.Originally posted by: Soviet

I think that SupCom is overrated. It's not startegy. It's simply a very advanced tactics game. Not saying any game has reached the strategy point that's pure real time, but when you say that, you're just encouraging mediocrity.
It's far from strategy.
Here's something that's not just my opion:
You're play on a mega map.
Is that strategy? No. You may have a tactical strategy, but hardly a real time one.

Thanks for the reply, yeah, I like the strategic warfare elements of moving pieces around a board, but not so much keeping the base up and running.
I've heard negative things regarding the online aspects of C&C3 (cheaters and such mostly) so I may give SupCom a try. I'll probably be plaing it all online.

SupCom requires a fair amount of fiddling right at first, but there's an option that allows you to start with a prefab base of early essentials if you like that sort of thing. If you like climbing the tech tree before an attack you can easily, with some experience, build a base that can take care of itself to a great degree. SupCom is all about recon. This drives your build order, especially as tech starts to ramp up. There are so many ways to get pasted, especially in Assasination, that it pays to have a clear idea what the enemy is doing.
If you decide to play online, look at some of the replays first.
