Best protien powder?

I'm trying to find a good protien powder to start using in my shakes but I have no idea what brands are good.

I'm looking for a low carb one preferably, I found one at GNC for $40 that is a lean mass build, 130 calories, 2carbs, 0 fat, and it looks pretty good but its expensive for how little you get. I was looking on Bodybuilding.com for some cheaper protien powders but I can't decide on one.

Any help?

I use body fortress chocolate. Good low carb decent protein and low fat. Definitely not #1, but its not bad stuff.

And it's cheap. ~$12.50 for 2lbs at walmart.

I get the EAS from costco too. The chocolate isn't anything special, but the vanilla tastes really good. Its good in other recipes too. Its a protein blend, so its not straight whey, but thats good for general protein throughout the day. Its $35 for 6 lbs at my costco.

Post-workout, I like the Dymatize line of whey powders. Both the toffee butter crunch and the chocolate mint are really good.

I have the Orange Cream flavored stuff from allthewhey.com. It's pretty decent, and not too costly. But if you can, just eat more meat, whole food protein is always going to be better.

Body Fortress from Walmart is the absolute cheapest in terms of grams of protein/$, but it has a very gritty texture and doesn't taste very good compared to other whey protein brands' chocolate flavors.

I think ON 100% whey offers the best tradeoff between price, mixibility, and taste.

I've tried a lot and the best flavor and only stuff I get now a days is Next Nutrition's Designer Whey. It mixes w/out clumping and tastes by far the best.

I use ON Gold Standard Whey, Double Rich Chocolate.

The EAS from Costco, in my opinion, is complete crap.

One issue here, other than mixability (I use a blender) is water versus milk. ON had a "special" chocolate flavor (not Double Rich chocolate). And while it was better in water, it was worse in milk.

So it also depends on what you're doing to mix it with/add to it.

That's what I've been using lately. Mainly because I'm just cheap, but it doesn't taste bad in milk.

I use Syntrax Nextar, Chocolate Truffle flavor. It's very high quality whey protein isolate, dissolves very easily in water/milk (just stir a bit), and tastes fantastic. It's also pretty damn healthy, having < 100 calories, 23g protein, 0g carbs, and 0g fat per serving. The only downside is that it's pretty expensive - ~$26 for a 2lb jug. However, last time I saved money on protein and bought crappier stuff, it tasted horrible and I lost all motivation to drink it. This stuff... I can't wait to down this stuff after a workout: two scoops in a large glass of milk and you have an incredibly tasty chocolate milk drink with ~60 grams of protein.

I purchased the Body Fortress Vanilla and it wasn't that bad but then the other day when I was at my gym, sitting at the shake bar they've got talking to a buddy after our work out, I asked if I can purchase their "fat burning" protein powder and found out I could, got 5LBs of it in Vanilla for 30 bucks. Not bad. Tastes great, mixes well, doesn't have a brand name though, comes in a silver bag, like potato chips lol.

By far the best, and I've tried them all.

I refuse to order from them after they released that over-priced crap they call "Results."

I think I'm going to order some protein from trueprotein.com. They have a lot of choices and good prices for protein in bulk.

My friend's dad gave me some unopened MET RX for free, its 37g/serving, so it's hefty. It's 60 dollars, but he didn't want it, so I get it, I guess.

It's pretty good, vanilla flavored, but the shake I make ends up having the consistency of a pudding, so I end up eating it with a spoon.
