I don't know about those 3 in 1 printers, but I like most HP B&W Laser printers, which is what I would reccomend

Canon
Their ink is much cheaper, plus you can get generic ink which is even cheaper than Canon ink.

Personally I'd go with separate printer/scanner than a combo unit. If you really want a combo I'd go with an Epson CX5400. Otherwise I'd recommend getting a HP LaserJet 4 off eBay for your text printing and stuff that doesn't have to be color and an Epson or Canon inkjet for when you do need color. Scanners again I recommend Epson I really like the Perfection 1670 that I have.

True. My 660Cse which I bought in November of 1995 is still working flawlessly. What a piece of crap.

Your 660Cse was built back when HP inkjets were built to the same standard of quality as their lasers. No more. They've come right back to the pack.

I vote HP for a B/W laser workhorse and Canon for inkjet color.

I can't believe hp is winning this pole  I thought you where all geeks here. Epson prints better, (typically) faster, and costs less per page due to thier better ink technologies, and from my experiance even last longer (page count wise)

I have 4 HPs and all about the same age. 660Cse, 672 (2 of them) and 692. Nice thing is that they all use the same ink cartridges.

I'm not saying hp doesn't make decent printers, but they are not the best.

To me it's like buying a psu, spnd $40 on a powmax that will work ok and maybe fail and take other components with it, or spend $60 on an antec and has better power switching that will likely not fail.

(note, I've personally got a 3 year old Lexmark Z65, this thing rocks, but at work, we pretty much buy hp lasers and epson inkjets)

I've had several HP's; as the tech improves, I move up. And one Lexmark - never again. Worthless piece of crap.

I  my HP's.

I don't like lexmark inkjets, but their lazer printers are pretty good.

For an all in one I don't know what to tell you. Most all of them suck. I guess I would go with HP or Cannon. I haven't seen any Epson all in one printers in my area. As someone else mentioned I would probably go with a seperate printer and scanner.
