D*mn, I voted Far Cry because of the graphics (and the game of course 🙂), but I liked Mafia a lot more... This is about the game that I enjoyed most for the past years... I just keep playing it... Man, the style and details of that game are amazing... Same goes for the graphics... Let's just hope Mafia 2 will come soon...
 
I voted for Half-Life 2 - but really it's too short a game.

Sorry late to this thread but I just found this amazingly wonderful site and forum grouping. Didn't see one of my favorite games listed(WB series) so I thought I would make this my first post 🙂

Ok, best games EVER IMHO

SC:BW Best balance and amazing strats

Total Annihilation:CC Great community, once the AI was fixed by 3rd party this game was...just wow

Diablo II Another game that I believe was so so, out of the box but the community mods made this game amazing.

The most unrecognized greatness goes to the Warlords Battlecry series. The persistent hero is something I love to death. This was truley the first RTS/RPG. If I am wrong please feel free to correct me. T my knowledge there is no other game where you can level up the commander of your army and take him from game to game in multiplayer of or single player.


Games I was most disappointed with.

Halo for the PC. XBOX ver. rocked. No co-op on the PC? FRAUD!! Tried for weeks to get my money back. No joy 🙁

Warcraft III - Where are my hordes of Orcs? I want orchish hordes by god!! Ridiculously small unit limit. Not saying it's a bad game but, not at all Warcraft so it was a dissappointment to me personally.

Sacred - Had the potential to be one of the best games ever, but because of bugs early on..soooo many bugs....grew very frustrated. Also the quests felt disjointed and random. This was highly evident in multiplayer.

 
Freaking awesome list! I have to go with HALF-LIFE HL2 is a close second, but the original beats it out for me.

EDIT: nvm, I misread your post. There's nothing wrong with Deus Ex being on that list.

Was that ever sold as its own game? It came with the Half-Life Platinum Pack, sure, but I don't think that is enough to warrant a choice for it.
