Quizno's is a fucking joke. I laugh at the people that eat the hype.

Have to disagree with you, Zin. Quizno's is better than Subway . . . not that that's saying much. Pretty much anything is better than Subway.

No Jersey Mike in my part of Jersey. Potbelly isn't around here either. But I can get a great sub at tons of local places so I don't care.

Quizno's has more coupons than Subway, so i voted for them. Both are okay.

I like Quiznos a lot. Too bad they closed all the ones in the Hartford area down :(

Isn't the one over on Main St. in East Hartford still open?
I could have sworn I drove by there the other day and the neon lights were on.

100% true.

Subway even smells funny/bad when you walk in. Quizno's is far tastier. The only reason I go to Subway ever is that there is one close to my office and they have some healthier options, if sodium is not a consideration.

I do like a BLT from Subway from time to time, but it's hard to fuck that up. The one near my office is stingy with the bacon.

Just a point to note: The best subs actually come from the part of the country where they're called hoagies.

Quizno's, and it's not even close. Potbelly's would be my 2nd, but it's not on there.

And a happy side effect of Quizno's being a bit pricy is that it keeps the trashy clientele that Subway attracts out. Nothing against those of you that prefer Subway...

My few visits to a franchise Subway here in NYC have produced subs that look thin and sickly compared to their advertisements. For the Italian BMT, they literally count out three thin slices of each meat placed across the bread.

To be honest, I've never stepped into a Quizno's that didn't smell of rat piss and employed stoned teenagers.

Subways tend to be run by efficient (though price-gauging) Indians!

why would you even order that? Spicy Italian. layer of pepperoni, salami, bologna.

what more do you need?

Besides, fatties need 1/2 the meat they think they need.

Not fatty, I probably have an eight to ten bodyfat percentage... more like bored of cooking real food and frugal. :) I can't give a review of an actual Italian BMT, but I think it might be pretty good.

Spicy Italian usually, Italian BMT when it's on special for $5.

Every single quiznos around here has closed. It was good while it was here, but I heard that the head franchize really screws the owners.

Ah fuck...I forgot about that place. You like it? I thought it was terrible.

We used to have a fabulous sub shop just a few miles up the road...but the government closed it a few years back...

Your poll is fail, your comparing national chains to regional and local chains. Not a fair comparison.

And with all sub shops it comes down to the ingredients and employees in each location. I've been in subways that ranged from terrible to excellent, same with quiznos

There are couple barely hanging on here but I think most/all are owned by Indians.

Sub business was great back in the 70's and 80s with few competition but it's just brutal now. I feel bad for the store owners knowing they probably make less than their employees.

We had a Quiznos open a location in the nearby city. Excellent location - the highest traffic area around here. They went out of business. Know why? Because you're wrong. The place was always dead.

Speaking of subs, the wife and I had a sub for dinner tonight. Chicken tender sub - 2 foot long sub, loaded with chicken tenders that were dipped in a medium sauce, with lots of cheese and all the fixins. $7.49 (for a 2 foot sub.)

As long as the ones near me stay open, I don't really care. I don't mind paying a premium for higher quality food.

I voted Jimmy John's, but I don't think they actually make a good, traditional sub. However they are reasonably priced, faster than hell, and very tasty. Some of the other ones on that list that do make more traditional style subs are just so bad it doesn't matter. Jersey Mikes is okay, but I feel like they've really gone downhill and their fixins to bread ratio sucks, *almost* as bad as subway. I don't know what a Lenny's or Firehouse is.

Jimmy Johns

just started going there. Quick service is a huge plus for me, frankly I'm not that picky and going to Subway can be a chore. You're the restaurant, you decide whats on a sandwich and I'll pick one.
a million times this. seriously it takes JJ's less than a minute to make your sandwich. compare to standing in the subway line while all the mouthbreathers in front of you decide which of their deceivingly limited disgusting selection of toppings to put on their subs. JUST PRE-DESIGN THE DAMN SANDWICH AND IF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT THEY CAN SAY REMOVE X.

I like Quiznos, and there's a small chain called "Larry's Giant Subs" here in the area that I like, too.

I just want to say, though, fuck Jimmy John's. God damn terrible.

The only difference is that Quizno's charges you more--for much less. And the 7 or 10 Quizno's that I have visited have all been filthy, nasty places.

heh, 2 of them, near where I lived in Chicago, were closed down for not running gas--yes, they were not properly heating their food.
:D

That's the complete opposite of reality outside of where you are.

Every Subway I've been dragged to around the world is the dirtiest, smelliest place with the worst "food." Awful bread, yellow/brown lettus, and you have to pay more to get the equivalent amount of meat as Quiznos. Yes, quiznos costs more, but you get so much more and the taste is so much better.

The only bad quiznos I've had was at an airport. They just can't seem to get them right at airports for whatever reason.

no restaurant is right at an airport. well, except the Potbelly at Midway. that is a must-stop-by if you're there.

I've lived at both ends of this country. Can't say I've visited such a sandwich shop outside of the US b/c...why would I? so, talking all over this country, and places I've been, Quizno's is a scummy, scummy place. Never been to a bad Subway, unless you're counting all the Subways attached to Oasis and other Freeway rest stops or whatever.

then, it wouldn't make sense to count that, would it?
