I've never tried any other than Subway and Blimpie. Subway is decent and Blimpie sucks.

Has anyone ever eaten at a Pita Pit? It's similar to a sub shop but they use pita bread instead. I just tested it out within the last year, and they are costly but very good.

Potbelly is delicious and should be on the list.

That said, Firehouse Subs is yummy, but voting for it almost felt like betraying Jimmy Johns, home of the drunken late-night snack (on campus it was right on Main Street, literally between all the popular bars, and open until 3am. Hell, they even delivered if you were too lazy).

how can Jimmy Johns be a drunken late night snack?

that is the domain of Miami Subs--also missing (mercifully) on this poll. :)

JJ is too "healthy and fresh" for drunken snacking. that is when grease dipped in grease with meat and fries is required.

Olive Garden isa filthy pile of crap, Quebert.

Chipotle is godly when ti comes to reasonably-priced quality food prepared quite quickly.

teh problem with ATOT is that no one here seems to understand the concept of value. Or, at the very least, have no perception in the differences between real value and marketing.

I like Subway b/c it is no worse than Quiznos. no way and hell. Quiznos costs about 50-60% more, and I've yet to find a Quiznos that is not a filthy cess pool employing stoners that will fuck up your order.

I don't consider that value.

I have been boycotting Chipotle for their farm labor practices. Even McDonalds gets its produce from more ethical farms. They are one many companies I am boycotting, and every day I am finding new companies to boycott, mainly over labor practices.

Of the list, Jersey Mike's by miles. Larry's, if it were on there.

Subway used to be OK, but they've gone downhill over the last several years. The restaurants and the food even smell repulsive, now. When a subway nearby bakes their bread, it reminds me of tupperware burning.

Blimpie also has gone downhill, and did so much sooner than Subway.

Quiznos is like Taco Bell: choose your order right, and you can get filled up pretty cheaply, on OK stuff. Quiznos is not high quality, but I don't feel sick being in a Quiznos, smelling the food, or eating the food, so it's got something over Subway. I'm guessing the regional management around Chicago just sucks, based on Zinfamous' posts, because in the SE, I've yet to go into a Quiznos that was not clean, orderly, friendly, etc.. My only problem with Quiznos if that I'm in that kind of mood, I'm usually just as close to a good local Greek or Mexican joint, so don't bother.

Firehouse is OK, but everything is too sweet and bland, and like Quiznos, they want to go cook everything over again.

I've only been to a Jimmy Johns and a Lenny's once, as they aren't nearby, either, so no real opinion. I'd never even heard of Togo's or Potbelly, before now, and apparently have neither anywhere near me.

I don't want to start this argument again........

He's obviously trolling, he claims Chipotle's resonably priced, but Quiznos isn't lol. Chipotle is a god damn rip off. I can go to Tacos El Jose and get 2 burritos for what they charge for one, and both are bigger and better.

quality/amount.

this is how one calculates value.

do you even have a clue what we're talking about?

Quizno's sandwich is about 1/2 the size of Subway, same fucking ingredients, same fucking quality, and 40-50% more in price.

How the hell is that value?

With Chipotle, you can essentially get 2 meals (one fricking burrito; if you aren't a fatass) for relatively the same price of a Quizno's sandwich, and is roughly 60% more food.

do you not get this?

one can debate quality to some degree, sure, but one can not debate quantity as this is easy to quantify.

Jersey Mikes is pretty awesome. Followed by Jimmy Johns.

Those two are way above everything else. (Though I haven't tried all of the ones listed)

.

I grew up in Raleigh, NC, lived in Chicago, and now live in teh Bay Area. I can say that my judgments are based on a rather wide birth--especially driving up and down the east coast, midwest, and NorCal (much more limited experience here.)

The Quiznos that I've been to here are as bad as the ones in Chicago and outside of Chicago that I've been to. Those in NC are a little better (clean), but you still have price + no appreciable quality difference. as a franchise, one shouldn't expect that to change from store to store, though.
