Jimmy Johns

just started going there. Quick service is a huge plus for me, frankly I'm not that picky and going to Subway can be a chore. You're the restaurant, you decide whats on a sandwich and I'll pick one.

1) Quiznos
2) Tied between Firehouse and Jersey Mikes

Jimmy Johns has good bread but their subs are kind of bland and they are very skimpy on meat.

Subway is an abomination and it's sad how many people around the world can call what they serve there "food." Sandwich artists? No. Con artists.

you do realize that Quizno's serves the exact same quality ingredients as Subway, right?

The only difference is that Quizno's charges you more--for much less. And the 7 or 10 Quizno's that I have visited have all been filthy, nasty places.

heh, 2 of them, near where I lived in Chicago, were closed down for not running gas--yes, they were not properly heating their food.
:D

Quizno's is a fucking joke. I laugh at the people that eat the hype.

Also, Quizno's just may be the worst restaurant chain, overall.

stiff competition with KFC, of course.

(In your current poll, I'd say Jersey Mike's is the best)

then Subway. for real.

I like Quizno's. I think they have great subs, just overpriced. I don't like to use/abuse coupons and Quiznos is expensive without it. Jersey Mike is good too but it's expensive too. Large sub there is close to $10. Jersey Mike is 90% lettuce and 10% meat. Probably the worst value of the group. Subway is 90% lettuce too but at least it's cheap. But low price can't help below average taste of Subway. Firehouse while not the best tasting has good bang for taste factor. Portions are good. Meat/lettuce ratio is excellent. Taste is above average. Prices are moderate.

Never been to Potbelly and it's not available where I live so it's not on my list. But I have doubts about the place if you think Subway is any good.

really, there is exactly no difference between Subway and Quizno's. It's mind-boggling to think that anyone can imagine this as being so.

what do you mean Subway is all lettuce? Do you ask them to put 80% lettuce on your sub? You do realize that is the only way such would happen, right?

I find your judgement suspect due to preference of Quizno's. Well--not so much the preference, just the koolaid that it is somehow different from Subway.

Firehouse is OK, but nothing special if you ask me.

Potbelly is the best. it's no contest. This was even settled 4 years ago:

The biggest problem I have with Subway is that it feels like their bread + condiments to meat ratio is way to large. I have to ask for double meat every time just to feel like there is any at all, and then the price outweighs the benefit.

We have a place called Togo's here. It is the best. Lots of meat, unlike subway and Quiznos which are lots of bread.

Subway is awesome because they have a million choices, so many combos of sandwiches, breads, vegetables, and sauces. Quiznos is good too but kind of expensive, jimmy johns is good too.

We also have a place called Mr. Pickles here and that is great too.

Ah fuck...I forgot about that place. You like it? I thought it was terrible.

We used to have a fabulous sub shop just a few miles up the road...but the government closed it a few years back...

two of the best sub shops I've been to ain't chains

Galligaskin's in Ft. worth, TX used to have 2 shops but are down to one now.

Hungry Head in Kenosha, WI also used to have 2 shops and are now down to one.

small businesses like these are better than almost any chain.

Most recent shop I've been to tho is Jimmy Johns and it wasn't too bad for a chain. Also Jason's Deli is pretty good too.

Potbelly gets my vote. Unfortunately, there aren't any in my area.

I totally forgot about Potbelly. That gets my re-vote for national chains.

I still prefer Wawa or Primo, though. I'm sure some of the ATOT Philly crowd has at least heard of the latter.

Does it have to be a national chain?

Wawa if regional is ok.
Primo's if local (Philly area) is ok.

If national, I do like Quizno's.

Another vote for Primo's here.
