No drag cars :)

1. Lexus GS400 (#1 because it can be afforded by most people)
2. McLaren F1 (#2 because its street legal)
3. Corvette (#3 because its affordable and fast)
4. Lincoln Navigator (#4, is there any 4x4 better??)

those cars rule :D

Thank you BA! Finally somebody with some sense around here!! As long as we're doing the ranking thing::

1. Corvette ('54-'72, '97-'01)||Duh. A superior supercar under 40k!
2. Shelby Cobra||Specifically older, curvier ones but the 350 and 500 are nice too.
3. E Series Jaguar (pref. '67-'74?)||Think Austin Powers... A very sweet ride.
4. Lamborghini Diablo (Roadster/VT)||Freakin' amazing car, sickeningly expensive.
5. Chevelle ('65-'72)||Great car, fun to hop up.

>>>6. Burgundy '92 Toyota Camry V6 XLE. Shouldn't this be #1? 6-way power seats, sunroof, and a little button that unexplainably makes it go faster. What more could you ask for?

"and a little button that unexplainably makes it go faster"

Talking about the sport mode or whatever? As far as I know that just alters the shift points so it shifts later

You're all cracked out son, Lincoln Naivgator as the best 4x4. If you're a soccer mom who wants to trade in the minivan maybe! Flat out for all around general offroading (what 4x4 is for) you WILL NOT beat a jeep for modern made vehicles available here. (The G-wagon in germany doesnt count. hehe) And seriously putting a lexus before a corvette or maclaren...the youth of today needs help guys :)

soybomb is right on. Lincoln navigators are NOT off-road vehicles. They are for posers who want a big a** status symbol. Now my question is if you're purchasing a car as a status symbol, why wouldn't you go with the BMW X5 which has wicked looks and pretty good performance. Of course those are just my opinions.

1. Porsche 911 Turbo
2. Ferrari 360 Modena
3. Viper GTS / BMW M5 - 2 very different cars but both have their place
4. Corvette C3 Big-Block Convertible - I have a soft place in my heart for this one

yeah I know, it alters the shift points, i just thought 'fabulous mystery button' sounded better!

soybomb, good call on the jeep and the *cough* crap *cough* Lexus

And what is everbody's deal with the Porsches and Vipers? A Corvette Z06 can burn them all with a great look perfected over the last 50 years. (although it started out damn fine.)

hey, I'm a youth of today (16) but yeah, I know what you mean, we're all on some funky crack.

A Porsche 911 Turbo would demolish any of those cards except the McLaren

BMW M5 probably tops my list nowadays. I saw one the other day on the Long Island Expressway doing 100 or so - woohoo!

yeah there are nicer cars, but hey, i'm talking something the average guy could buy (yeah, i realize the average person couldn't buy a new esprit but they depreciate fast)

edit: also, decent 4-door sedan anyone can afford: '92-'95 Taurus SHO 5-speed.
