if the unit didn't work he could get his money back.

THE BEST BUY INSURANCE FOR THEIR PRODUCTS SUCK TOO!! No offense to those that may work there. But I have heard about a few friends of mine that had their ipod minis go out. Then they took them in and got replacements or free upgrades. I guess because the minis arn't being sold/made anymoreand also I think all ipods have a standard 1-yr warranty. Well my mini went out all of a sudden. I took it to best buy (yes I had the $50 insurance i got with it) and they said they had to send it to Apple. I told them to make sure it is kept safe so there isn't any scratches. My ipod comes back and has scratches all along the top and Apple couldn't even fixed it. Then I had to fork out all the extra money for either a nano or video ipod. They refused to match the 4gb nano for my 4gb mini due to the price. Now I think that is poor service. The manager was too scared to come out and talk to use too while we were there. Yes, now bestbuy gets less of my service.

Just my two cents.

you can return the best buy service plan at any time, it is prorated for the time you had it, and you can deal with apple to see if they would exchange it out for you.
