Benchmarking Firefox 3.5

I hate IE8 more than IE7.

They just keep getting worse.

And seriously, if i ever find someone i know using the steaming pile of Safari on a PC, i'm gonna slap them

It works fine for me. I've been using it since 0.7, and I've never had an issue with Firefox.

don't get why they're benchmarking the opera alpha. opera 10 has already moved into the beta phase and the beta version is much faster. so either they aren't aware...so they they simply named it wrong.

It works fine for me. I've been using it since 0.7, and I've never had an issue with Firefox.

Ive been useing it since Netscape Navigator. Where the biggest awesomest thing between updates was how they improved the "processing internetz" navagator icon. Same with IE back then. ooohhhh shiny animations.....

I think that depends entirely on your personal criteria for a browser. IE8 has some nifty features that aren't found in other browsers. You say it sucks for features and security, this indicates to me that you haven't used or read anything about IE8.

I don't need features. Speed is awesome in IE. I don't need security because I'm not a dumbass.

I use Chrome for speed and ease of recovery. I don't care what you think. FF is slower than IE so IE > FF. I don't need fucking bloated add-ons to make my browsing tolerable.

Yeah IE has gotten a lot better over the years. A lot of the reasons people legitimately hated it for are no longer big issues in IE8 or several editions back. For example its long history of flaunting the need to follow web standards has gotten much better with IE8. I'll still be a lifelong FireFox user probably but I'm not blind.

2. IE8 is the LEAST standards complaint browser out there. Maybe you are blind?

I've lost count of the number of people who have "accused" me of working for MS (I wish!). Every time I defend MS in the face of irrational hatred I am accused of working for them. It's pathetic.

I update tons of old machines to IE8 every day.

IT RUNS LIKE CRAP!

IE7 is slower than IE6 on old PCs, & IE8 is even worse.

On high end new PCs, you don't see much difference between IE/FF/Chrome/Opera, etc.

But the difference becomes a lot more noticeable on crappy systems.

I don't care how fast a browser is. If it can't render pages properly it is useless to me.

Also Safari is worth taking a look. It is very fast and passes the Acid test 100%
