Because the venue being an advantage is pretty much a myth and the line is basically being set by the way the money is falling. Plus many people look well beyond polls. Anyone who watched the first game knows that Bama outplayed LSU and probably should have won.
QFT If 'Bama could have made some field goals they would have and, like you said, should have won the game. Then Alabama would have been playing OKST and not LSU for the title and there wouldn't be such a controversy over who should be playing in the title game. But, Alabama lost, and it's almost like the BCS rewarded them for being the team that should have won, instead of playing fair and letting the next best team (OKST) play for the title. The BCS is too full of politics. Look how ESPN fought for this rematch BS. Of course I still think 'Bama is the better team, but this reeks just like when Oklahoma got to play for the title after losing their conference championship.
