Never watch this on sci fi, NBC is showing it.
It's not like the orignal that is for sure.

out of curiousity, are you talking about the original one or this new one?
Galactica is an old ship, meant to be retired and put into a museum. It does not have the latest and greatest technology.Originally posted by: arcas
The premise behind BSG, especially the new one, is silly. On the one hand, humanity is sufficiently technologically-advanced that they've achived artificial gravity and faster-than-light travel. On the other hand, their ships' defenses appear to be stuck in the 20th century. BSG appeared to be protected by anti-aircraft-type cannons and human-piloted fighters which shoot unguided bullets. What the hell?
The Cylon weapons were just as weak. 50 megaton nuclear missles? I don't know the year BSG is set to occur but I would have expected more.

Some of the cyclons are now made to look like people so they can infiltrate the humans.
Also Baltar isn't evil and the leader like the orignal he's just a pawn and being used by cyclons. That's a good thing, much more believable.
They can also project themselves into people's minds if they have access to the human before hand and get the opportunity to implate a chip in their head.
Hooray....they just improved leaps and bounds over the orignal series.
