new one. i think the special effects are great, but i hate some of the cast and the acting sucks too. the show gets pretty bland and drags on.

The cyclons are now people and nobody can tell them apart, so there what like 99.999% human and just a little cyclon ?

Also Baltar isn't evil and the leader like the orignal he's just a pawn and being used by cyclons.

They can also project themselves into people's minds since Baltar is the only one who sees the really hot cyclon babe.

sigh....they just destroyed the orignal series.

The premise behind BSG, especially the new one, is silly. On the one hand, humanity is sufficiently technologically-advanced that they've achived artificial gravity and faster-than-light travel. On the other hand, their ships' defenses appear to be stuck in the 20th century. BSG appeared to be protected by anti-aircraft-type cannons and human-piloted fighters which shoot unguided bullets. What the hell?

The Cylon weapons were just as weak. 50 megaton nuclear missles? I don't know the year BSG is set to occur but I would have expected more.

Have they explained the stupid 33 minute thing yet?

I haven't been able to see the pilots, but saw 2 episodes last night...

Galactica is an old ship, meant to be retired and put into a museum. It does not have the latest and greatest technology.

They can also project themselves into people's minds if they have access to the human before hand and get the opportunity to implate a chip in their head.

Hooray....they just improved leaps and bounds over the orignal series.
Fixed for you

I wasnt to impressed with the space shots, only thing special about the effects was keeping the drunk holding the camera to quit shaking while zooming in on the models.

Had me captivated to the screen for the full ~2 hours! I missed the first hour taking care of my little boy.
I was in the second grade when BSG came out... I loved Boxey and Muffit. ;)

This new one had some great high points... combat scenes were more scientifically accurate but hard to track/watch at their small size and high velocity.

And they SO wimped out on blowing up all the sub-light vessels that couldn't jump before the surprise attack - fade to white? BOOOOoooooo!!!

Cylons = computer programs which can be implanted into a human brain? Cylons running around in robot bodies is true to the original, but human clones?? What was THAT all about?

Baltar having sex with a Cylon blondie for two years??

I could have sword the original Cylons (if you read the books) were insectoid, not "software". The "robots" were simply powered armour suits.

I liked the light peppering of old phrases like, "Life here, began out there..." :)

Starbuck = FEMALE??!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?? :confused:

Overall, good.... but not awesome.

"Fleeing from the Cylon tyranny - the last battlestar, Galactica, leads a rag-tag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest... a shining planet, known as Earth!"

Kinda ticked me off when I heard that Starbuck was going to be female, then I saw her. Thought she was alright. Then I saw her act. Meh, about the same as the original actor. :p

I believe that they're up to 10 eps in the UK Yup. Just checked my BT folder, up to 10 so far. :D

series is pretty good so far. going to be interesting how they finish up the last 2 eps of the season. I still feel thier is no overall purpose in the show all its been so far is run form the cylons. wait for them to attack again and run some more.
