well i was gonna buy this directly from EA.. but they proved thier stupidity to me last night...
I run Vista RC1 for everything now as im a full time closed team tester.
and EA downloader as a program works fine in Vista... (updates BF2 perfectly)
but thier stupid ass site when you go try to buy it says you are not running windows XP and therefore cannot buy the program...(BECAUSE OF INCOMPATIBILTY WITH THE DOWNLOADER!) that works fine! freaking EA...
well BF2 works great in vista.. as does CoH (in fact CoH is already vista ready completely with a my games icon and windows performance rating already and it was released weeks ago) You would think that any game coming out bewteen now and the first of the year would have thought about that and be 100% Vista ready..
good job to THQ/Relic for making CoH ready to go..

Wait wait wait... you're the same guy who says EA/DICE can do no wrong after thousands of people complain about the same bugs in BF2, but you're running a BETA VERSION OF WINDOWS, and you're bitching?
Thank you for confirming that you're just another kiddie that wants people to look the other way when they're experiencing legitimate problems that you haven't encountered yourself, but when you have problems of your own, the world needs to grind to a halt.

Im running testing for not only MS but for my company as well for compatibility as we are rolling the Vista OS out in March 2007.
Im not the one yelling and calling you or anyone else names of any sort in either thread..
BF2 works flawlessly IN VISTA so does thier downloader program..
this is not a Dice problem this is an EA problem and Ive never once defended any business practice of EA and I have defended DICE for making great games.
So again throw your rocks I care less... I was trying to give them my 50 bucks and due to thier shortsightedness they havent upgraded the site to detect Vista as a valid OS.
My point is that you only acknowledge problems that you yourself encounter. If CVSiN doesn't experience a problem, then it must not exist (or it's not important) and everyone should just keep their mouths shut.

What problems? there is no problem with the software that make it unplayable... if i wait till the regular release DICEs game and the Demo work great..((tested in Vista BTW I was on the beta team for 2142 as well))...
but EAs website is a POS is my entire point.. it has nothing to do with the software.. jsut that I CANNOT ORDER IT using Vista for whatever reason.

I guess people like you (the vocal minority) are always gonna have your little causes.. well why dont you and those other 100000000000000s (major exageration) all organize and sue EA casue BF doesnt work on your PC... becasue in reality like I said before and the server stats of logged in players still proove that most people can play just fine.

If I can't go buy it off the shelf, it's beta 😉 . Hell, BF2 proved that even if you CAN buy it off the shelf, it could still be beta.

The sniper kit in BF2142 is pretty wicked, it's a big step up from BF2. The key to being a sniper is HIDING first and shooting second. As you're running around think about all the places you automatically scan for troops, then spawn with a sniper kit and avoid those areas.
I spent about 10 minutes hiding in a dark freight container watching an enemy spawn area. They never saw me and I had a nearly 20 kills when I ran out of ammo.
Another awesome feature of BF2142 is that hopping no longer insures escaping a sniper, in fact it actually helps a bit because you can fire at their feet in mid air and get a kill (bullet hits as they land). You couldn't do this at all in BF2, at least I couldn't.
Ah, a game that encourages spawn camping with no hope of retaliation.
Now THAT is great gameplay if I've ever heard of it!

Try that crap in Quake Wars and see how long your railgun trail lets you get away with it.
It still takes skill to get that good camping spot and make the long range shot but you're gonna have to relocate quick.

What are your settings at and fps. Iam getting around 15fps on max and 30fps on medium.

i played it only for one map but it feels different from BF2. i was assault and the recoil on that gun is HUGE!!! you cant even hit people from a distance with this thing and the gun moves when you breath but of course this is more realistic compared to the guns in BF2. i never got in any of the walkers cus of course everyone ran for them first. the audio is really great. the guns sound really good. the titan mode sounds interesting but i didnt get to play it. im sure with more time i will get used to it as i go along. it just felt different compared to BF2 and they better not have the same resolution crap that they did with the first game. having to put in the resolution in the target on the shortcut cus from the demo, it doesnt look promising. graphics standard BF2. guns look a little better but everything is still the same textures and everything else.
