side note: I'm more of a fan of electronic music like Richard Devine/ Venetian Snares/ Aphex Twin etc.. Though this is more like a recent change, before that it was all about metal. IMO that is where the most talent is.. Maybe not vocally, but music isn't JUST about the vocals. There is guitars, drums, bass, it all has to be very very good. And I think great metal bands have more going for them than just a good vocalist like half the big bands are.
