I've been to a number of just OK or bad concerts in the last 20 years, but there's three bands that I thought put on really good in concerts when I saw them. Nirvana and Faith No More in the early 90's and DMB every time I've seen them..

One band that I think sounds better live is Kiss. I've seen them twice in the last 10 years (they've been around a bit longer than I have!) and both times I thought they put on an excellent show. I like their live CD's more than their studio albums.

I've really been disappointed with the way Evanescence sounds live now, especially considering how good their early stuff (pre Fallen) sounds. Even their self produced stuff that was only sold at their early shows is 10x better than how they sound now live. But then I expect that from most "Top 40" type stuff or most artists that have only been around for a couple of years.

Tool Concert:
Meshuggah had their moments of greatness. Could barely hear the lead "singer."
Tool blew my mind live.

Projekt Revolu...whatever
Linkin Park had a lot of energy.
Blindside was crazy good.
Mudvayne had no energy. Beside that it was good.
Xzibit got the place bumpin.

Snoop Dogg concert:
Opening band was some crazy hip-hop/funk hybrid. The lead guy sang/rhymed while playing bass guitar. The chick had an amazing voice.
Snoop and his posse worked the crowd that night. You could tell they were having fun up on stage.

Edit: woops forgot one.

Pearl Jam concert:
Idlewild was pretty lackluster. "Freebird!" was shouted many many times, lol.
Pearl Jam themselves were amazing. 4 encores. One with just Eddy on acoustic I think.

Last concert I went to was in 1988 but from what I can remember ...

Wasp - blew chunks

The Romantics - blew even larger chunks

Yea thats quite a jump in music genre but if ya can't figure it out ... Wasp was with the guys , Romantics was with a female friend ;)

moved the good ones to the other thread

Another vote for RHCP - thank God STP saved the rest of the show.
Aerosmith sucked live but this was in 97' way past their glory days so I'll let it slide.

Best Live Performance:
Nine Inch Nails <----- Hands down the best. I've seen Radiohead, Tool, Depeche Mode, Metallica - all great shows but NIN wins.

I've seen DMB 4 times, the first 3 were amazing, the final one was horrid... I'll chaulk it up to a bad night, just no energy, completely off all over the place.

Something Corporate was really good when I saw them.

Orgy was horrible.

Eve6 was oddly much better then I was expecting.

The Starting Line was decent, but nothing to write home about.

Seeing Tool and Pumpkins together in concert was awesome.... I've heard sooo many complaints on pumpkins live, but it was the best concert I've ever been too, easily.

Yellowcard... I was like, wtf is this garbage. Probably the worst concert I've ever been too, the crowd seemed to agree with me.
