Die Hard... When the bad guy's body is torn apart by six shots... refocus down the barrel to Al Powel. I snuck in to see that movie. The crowd went NUTS.

I watched Running Scared last night, and must say that when his wife plugged the two pedos, I felt a small rush.

Or when Superman kneels before Zod and then continues to crush his hand while his theme slowly comes up...

I love that part

I knew someone would beat me to it.

?Father to a murdered son...
husband to a murdered wife...?

pure awesomeness

How about the Jack Nicholson's speach in "A Few Good Men" that was pretty good...

Agree also on the "Saving Private Ryan" cemetary scene and beach landing; still breathtaking.

Good thread btw.

ouu yeah, i agree. plus the monologue that followed it.

"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

God dammit! I forgot that scene. That is the most badass period. When Russel Crowe takes off his mask and faces the emperor and says "I am Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Amries of the North" I get chills because it is so badass. His authority is breath taking.

EDIT: Darn it beat to it, but yes that is clearly the pure winner.

Hands down

- Gladiator when Rusell & Joaquin are face-to-face in arena
- Saving Private Ryan's opening scene with the crosses at cemetery & when Ryan talks to his wife (at cemetery)
- A Few Good Men when Cruise asks Nicholson if he ordered the Code Red
- Passion of the Christ leading up to the crucifixion
- The Notebook when James Garner sees Gena Rowlands freaking out from an *episode* (at nursing home)

That whole movie is pretty disturbing.

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life. That's true for every day, except the day you die."
"You are Mr. Durden. You are the one who gave me this.":Q
"I was cured alright."

The President's speech in ID4 looked pretty awesome when I first saw it (but then, I was 11)

Neo's "Because I Choose to" also fell kinda flat in The Matrix Revolutions. I guess they thought they had another "No" moment there.

Goonies, "Heeeey yoooou guuuys, ahhhhyaa!" ;)

I liked the scene in Dark City where you finally see that they're in space.

The very end of Sixth Sense, when you realize he's dead.

I'll second this scene.

Biting the Curb - American History X
Brad Pitt's character finding the head and spacey's monologue - se7en
the "walk" - the usual suspects

agree with you 100%. I'm sure there are some others out there, but can't think of them now

Rambo in the original First Blood movie was a badass (the second and third was laughable).

The scene where he dove off the cliff
The scene where the colonel told the sheriff what he was up against
Booby trap in the forest --- "Let it go" and silently slipped off
