The funny thing is, i suspect the B3s will clock just as well as the G0s in most cases.
Sure, some G0s will likely clock a bit better, but really, there's a lot of luck involved...

Hey guys, just signed up for the forums. I am in the middle of building my first self-built pc. One day I was doing some surfing and happened to stumble across this website. The information I got on here really helped me with ordering my different pc components. I just wanted to say thanks for all the help. I have never built my own pc before so I might not be thru with the help yet. :)

Anyways I just wanted to say that I ordered a Q6600 from NCIX thanks to someone's earlier suggestion. I got an email saying it shipped earlier tonight, I double checked and it is indeed a G0. I ordered it Tuesday afternoon if that helps at all. Hopefully I will be able to do a modest OC with just air cooling. But for now I just want to get my pc up and running smoothly. When I get to messing around with OC'ing I will take any advice I can get from you guys. Thanks again for all the help.

Well I don't know about the other differences between B3 and G0, but:

http://www.intel.com/design/pr...or/specupdt/315593.htm

Intel FIXED 35 CPU bugs (errata) in the G0 that were problems in the B3.

Though in the process of doing that they added at least one known NEW bug
in the G0 that was NOT a problem in the B3, and I'm sure more bugs
may be found in the future.

And, granted, MOST of those errata that are FIXED in G0 and BAD in B3 are probably
things that aren't TOO likely to cause problems for most people in the real world....

BUT a few of the fixes in G0 are quite significant / important in various not too
unrealistic circumstances, so I'm quite glad to see they've made them!

FIXED in G0, but defective in B3:

Decided to take the risk and ordered July 24th, recevied confirmation email yesterday stating that I was shipped a SLACR - G0 chip. Looks like I got lucky with all the reports of recent B3 stepping CPUs.

Man, I was all set to order my E6850 (I even debate the Q6600 vs E6850 in my sleep now!), but you guys have given me the itch to take another shot at the G0 lottery with ncixus.com. Agh!

Mine is shipping from Canada ..

I think I ordered from the Canadian site .. I had to specify US$ when
I checked out..

Edit:
I ordered from Canada for sure ,,

I just looked at the NCIXUS site, and I can see that is not where I ordered ..

I run FAH so the quad core was the easy winner over the dual core.

NCIX is a crapshoot at the moment ... people are randomly reporting G0's and B3's regardless of when they ordered. If you don't mind waiting a few weeks, you could always go for Tankguys.

Where did it ship from ?

My NCIX shipping notification also lists a SL9UM B3. Fedex tracking shows that it shipped from Richmond, BC. And I paid for overnight shipping!
