Crap... Mine was also shipped from MWave on Monday, and I have to pick it up from FedEx on the way home from work. I was hoping their website information just wasn't updated to show the new stepping. Probably should have waited. :(

still within limits of a Q6600

O.K. -- Link didn't have that ..

The limit is 100c .. :D

So, I agree; no problem there ...

Im sorry, i have to call shins on this statement. I would like a speedfan screenshot with voltages laid out on the bottom. This will tell us a real answer on your vcore. Im guessing your vcore is much higher then 1.2v for your idle/load temps to be that high on a 9500.

I posted this on the first page
http://i14.tinypic.com/524d112.jpg

1.3125 volts at 3.33GHz

and now you'll say - ok, so run that 24x7 for 3 weeks and report back...

toadster, i give you credit for the QX6700 Es you showed me. Thats one hell of a nice chip to be pulling 1.25Vcore @ 333x10

However, THATS not a G0. Your profile lists G0. Im kinda confused at your results, because your chip is pushing far better then fuggers cherry picked QX that broke 4ghz on dual cascade phase.

Im lost now, I say we keep his CPU out of the results. Its even boggling me.

I'm curious though, are the numbers people will get from G0s really superior to the B3s, or will it be just an anomaly due to more people actually owning Q6600s now and thus a greater spectrum of results.

They have a lower power rating so it just means they should run at stock on a lower voltage.. ( on average ) This is a result of Intel refining their fab in some way ..

Overclockers hope that this will translate to higher clocks at lower voltages with cooler temps also ..

But like others noted, we need some real numbers to see a trend ..

And OC'ed for a few hours doesn;t count. Also, most people don;t run theirs at 100% on all 4 cores 24/7 like I do, and that changes things. I can post and even boot at 36. But stability ? forget it. 3.4 stable until I fire all the cores up. 3.1 is the best I can do.

I was about to do the same but decided to call their tech support first. The guy told me they had SL9UM's shipping out the door today...

Mwave let you return your unopened CPU? Before I even bought mine from Mwave, I checked their policy, and they said you cannot return a retail processor. Even if they did allow it, wouldn't you get hit with a 15% restocking fee?

Here's a snippet from Mwave:

"Due to manufacturer's policies, Mwave.com can not accept refunds or returns on All Software, Game Titles, Retail Boxed Processors, Notebooks, Blank Media and Blank Cartridges, Camcorders, Printer Cartridges, Notebook Batteries, Liquid Cooling Products, , Minolta, QMS, Cisco, IBM, Sony, Intel, Tektronix, NEC and Hewlett Packard products. Defective merchandise can be returned to the manufacturer directly."

Yeah, they say there is a 15% on all non-defective returns. I'm either going to keep it, or sell it in the for sale forums for a smaller loss than $40+ if I can. It was exciting playing the lottery while it lasted. :D I really couldn't care less about the stepping except for it is supposed to run cooler with the G0, and I want to keep temps down as low as I can. Does anyone know what the stock temp difference is between B3 & G0 on the same setup? (I doubt it, but worth asking).

i was told full refund on the phone for unopened sealed box :D not sure if someone has heard otehrwise.

i know im spending more than i have to. its not an insane amount of money. ill pay more on shipping than i would have but that and a lil more to ship one back is no biggie. i just sold a print from my photography for a hundred bucks so im treating myself to hopefully one of the earlier GO's. its not being stingy with money, but i am not pissing it away either :D
