Public schooling taught my class the rough mechanics of it in 6th grade. Till then, the word "vagina" wasn't even in my vocabulary.

I was 11 in 5th grade, though most of my classmates were 10. I was never held back.

Kinda hard to say, who's to say the 5th grader that told the other kid actually knew what full intercourse was? He might've saw dry humping and thought it was sex. Unless the police department actually got a full detailed description, or a full detailed confession, we may never know. And then who's to say they weren't lying, and didn't know the consequences? *shrug* Then again, these are TODAY's 5th graders... I'm sure all of them have seen at least a dozen pornos by now (no joke).

in my school, two yr 10 students (14-15year old) were caught in a lift, not having sex, but the lad was applying his tongue to an entirely different set of lips than you would expect
 
I've seen homosexual orgies go on in unattended classes (and bathrooms) during the Seventh Grade at an all-boys school. This was back in 1997...in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. So it's only natural that things have advanced(?) in rural north Louisiana.
 
Yes that is a WTF moment but a better question is why the fvck are the children being charged with felony obscenity!?! They were having sex with each other not a teacher! What they need is a lesson about STDs safe sex etc not crimial charges, especially at that age!
