No, it doesn't have wireless. You will need to buy a wireless PCI adapter.

For a desktop it's always better to use wired internet if possible. Is it not possible or do you just want to have the option to use wireless?

It would be the second computer, need to it have wireless. Not sure how i would set it up to be hard wired since all cables are in my office, and this will be on other side of the house.....

You can edit posts with the edit button on the lower right...

Not sure what you mean. Would you still need what? The PCI card? Yes, if you want to connect wirelessly to a wireless router you need a wireless adapter.

You can also just buy a long RJ45 cable and route it along the edges of the floor. May have to hack some door thresholds.

That all looks fine to me. :)

Does the computer I sent you have wireless capabilities, if not what do you recommend

I agree with lehtv that it is always better to run a cable if at all possible. If not, I have had good luck with this Rosewill adapter. It's on sale too!

Just as a side note. in many cases when a PCI Wireless is installed into the Desktop/Tower the two Antennae end up down close to the floor between the Tower/Desktop and a wall.

In many case it is preferable to get a good USB. As an example the one that I linked to comes with long wire thus allows placing the Unit up above obstructions and provides better performance.

However, no matter what Giga capable wire network connection will always do better than Wireless.

First time poster, I basically built your 1/6/13 version of your mid-range system. Thanks for keeping this thread up to date as it was a great help for a first time builder like me. I only made a few changes. When I received my 300R case in the mail the front panel was smashed off so I returned it and searched for a tougher case. I wound up buying a C70 Vengeance, it was a little pricy but I loved the military green and ammo box styling that it offered. I also skipped the SSD for now and installed a WD black 1TB. Installing the OS on an SSD and using the HDD for data was a litlle daunting for a first time builder like myself so I kept it simple. Maybe in the future when larger SSD's are available for a decent price I'll buy one. So far this system awesome!! Downloaded Far Cry 3 and it rocks with the graphics turned all the way up. I installed a Hyper 212 cooler so I can OC in the future. I never OC'd a computer before so I'm running it stock right now and it still flies. Anyway, thanks again!

That's a sweet case... but it's BIG. I wish they made a 'C70m'... a mATX version of it... :awe:

What a difference a week makes! We're well under $1k this week thanks to some good deals on the HDD, case, RAM, (especially) PSU. Thanks Dominion for the PSU link!

Question re: the CPU/Mobo combo vs Microcenter.

I live near one and pricing online I find the newegg 5370K/Pro3 combo to be a better deal.

Newegg: $306.98 with a $10 gift card
Microcenter: $190 CPU + $95 mobo = $303 with 6.5% tax

Both include a $10 rebate so I cancelled those out.

Is there a deal at Microcenter for this combo that I don't know about?

When you add both items to your cart at MicroCenter, you should see that the mobo is $40 off.

Has AMD got the "bang for your buck" locked up with respect to video cards currently? Is there an nVidia offering in the same ballpark (comparable price / performance) to either the 7970 or 7950?

IMHO yes. The best Nvidia option price-wise is the GTX 660 which competes with the 7850 2GB. The 7950 and 7970 analogues (GTX 660 Ti and GTX 670) don't have what it takes given their price and the fact that they only have 2GB of VRAM.

Would the current setup tolerate RAM with a slightly higher voltage?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104173

1.65v instead of 1.5v?
