And you are planning on going after Bloomberg inc., Apple, GE, etc.

Planning? I am a party of one. As I am to the "left" of any of our politicians publicly stated positions, I'll vote for those most likely to align with me. More agreeable, or at least open to reason and logic. That's generally going to rule out Republicans. Biden is a sad testament to how stupid our people are. But at least he isn't an orange plated !@#$ stained monument of it.

Tell you what that definitely isn't happening under Trump...

No !@#$ sherlock.

...and don't expect your great liberal white hope to do any of that, no matter how much you wish it so.

Who?

Please bring the establishment back in with their hollow promises and lesser of two evils, I'm not as bad as Trump platform, and get ready to lay the groundwork for someone worse than Trump to come in afterwards.

I responded to a question "what do I want for the country". WTF does that have to do with you rambling on about the establishment?
It would be less cowardly and less a waste of space if you would share with us your policy "solution".

Your truth, not mine. That Biden and Trump are morally equivalent strikes me as completely insane. Sorry.

Feel free to make the case. I see two racist rapists who oppose any political project that would help anyone aside from their wealthy donors and special interests.

It’s not alright, but it is the same order of magnitude as a bad flu season, which is similarly devastating to those with weakened immune systems.
A bad flu season is from August-April.

This thing is doing a bad flu season in 2-3 months. That's not counting the people who are going to be dying from this 8 months from now when things are "better".

So, uhh, Bernie Bros won't follow Bernie. It gives me pause, causes me to doubt their sincerity. Maybe it's just been a fifth columnist charade all along.

Many have tried to explain this: Bernie was not why "Bernie Bros" supported Bernie. It was Policy. If you want their Votes, you offer Policy, not Bernie's endorsement.

what's a few 10's of thousands of American deaths between friends, amirite?
150,000 Americans die every year from lung cancer and yet we refuse to stop selling the one product most directly correlated to those deaths. Capitalism and society has always had a body count. This particular pandemic is causing hysteria simply because its something we cannot yet tame, and its particularly terrifying to western society.

That would be like making the case for why the sky is blue. I could but we know it is by looking.

Sunlight hits air molecules in the atmosphere and scatters, diffusing across what we see as the visible canopy. Blue light is a shorter wavelength than other colors, and thus scatters more. This is why the sky appears blue.

We know the sky is blue by looking, but we can also explain it if asked.

Go ahead and make the case that Joe is a racist, keeping in mind that it is possible to be a racist years ago and not still be a racist today. Then go ahead and make the case that Joe is a rapist, keeping in mind that the only accusation of rape comes from Reade, who voted for the Obama/Joe ticket twice, had plenty of nice things to say about him on Twitter in the past, and whose story about the assault continues to change.
My favorite part of that article:
... Her effusive praise for Russian President Vladimir Putin — she described him in a Medium post in December 2018 as a “compassionate, caring, visionary leader” — led to attacks that she was seeking to advance Russian interests.

Which brings us back around to whether or not they're willing to let Trump win again because both sides & shit. Will they get more of what they want from Biden & the Dems or from Trump & the GOP? The answer is beyond obvious.

That is what I said, that what can be confirmed by simply looking can also be explained. That you are equating Trump and Biden as effective morally interchangeable is an opinion that only somebody who hasn’t looked could possibly have. You are blind and assume you can see. I don’t care. Look or don’t. It’s all the same to me. I see a man with rose colored glasses telling me his theory of light. What is the point of trying to argue the truth with somebody who doesn’t want to see it. My responsibility ended when I said you are wrong. The rest is up to you.

On my end, I feel completely indifferent as to how bad Biden is. I don’t care if he is worse than Trump. That is why I rate myself as more objective in my opinion than you are. I see in you a need to believe and a great anger that others don’t seem to agree. I am of the opinion that I am strangely unattached to personal sacred cows, having looked long ago and discovered that all I held sacred was a lie. Love you.

Yeh, it's pointless to engage anybody as deep in denial as you are. Anybody with enough sense to pour piss out of a boot realizes that Reade has absolutely no credibility. The only reason to believe her is because you want to.

Influenza doesn't require us to crater our economy just do we don't have the equivalent of 10 flu seasons worth of deaths.

The flu season does not leave thousands with permanent lung and coronary damage either. The aftermath of this pandemic is yet to be seen, but the flu season does not put 10's of thousands on vents long enough to cause this damage.

As someone raised Republican... I have some experience in watching sacred cows burn. Yet the Ego never sleeps. I feel that I simply replaced one set of cows for another. The idea that our people need a fully developed safety net is very important to me. I am still willing to hear out and listen to Republicans if they have any policy to address the issues we face, but the more I look the more hollow and empty I find their response, the rare moment they bother providing one at all.

They say bootstraps, and my scared cow says BS.

Biden says he'll help, but I expect the status quo. And while he's a stark improvement over Cheeto, I fear we cannot maintain the status quo for long. Our pent up need for evolution, or revolution, is going to get the better of us. And we still fail to elect people who I think can help us navigate these treacherous waters towards safety. And it's not like the President has any power to do it alone. He needs (at minimum) a party behind him, dedicated towards the same goal. Bernie would have been a symbolic victory more than a practical one. But it still stings when we cannot even take the smallest of steps towards securing our future from the unbridled destruction wrought by Reaganomic Trickle Down.

Republican economic policy has directed this country towards the cliff for 40 years. My sacred cows are screaming over the danger this poses.

Guys, for real, as much as Biden will not improve the lives of millions of working/poor people, at the very least our government will not keep getting corrupt and we will not be self-isolating in our own deception of conservative self-righteousness. To paraphrase Perknose and others, the next four years, if Biden wins (he fucking better), they'll be used to heal as a nation and get things back in order to a level with a bit more morals. I think in that time frame, us socialist, evil doers can really foster the support of older milenials and younger voters to strengthen the movement. Is that really so unreasonable? o_O

I mean, this has been said countless times but come on, let's not burn the house down because the sink doesn't work! Think bigger picture!

Perhaps you are right in what you see in me, in any case sharing my opinions here doesn't seem to do be doing much good, and while I'm frequently called a troll here, it isn't my intention to simply stir shit or irritate people. I will try to recalibrate and find a way to converse earnestly and constructively. You have, as ever, my deepest affection and love.

You'll have to wait for all the boomers (of which I am one) and most of the GenXers to die off before saying you're a socialist doesn't cause 1/2 of America to recoil in fear and loathing. The cold war seared our hatred of 'socialism' into our brains. Well, the other option is for younger generations to have more kids, Boomers kept pretty damn busy on that front, that's why there's still so many of us. Than and we vote (and we'll trudge through rain, snow and hail to do so :p).

Given the mess that Biden will inherit, it'll be hard for him to move any significant agenda items forward, like universal healthcare. I, like others, see this as a one term presidency. Of course, if Dems can't win both houses, it's going to be a damn brawl for the next 4 years

Hey, I don't want to be the person questioning a victim if she was indeed a victim, but there are a lot of red flags in that article.
