Also, in the beginning of ANH, R2-D2 and C-3PO act like they've never met Obi-Wan Kenobi nor even know who he is. Yet in Episodes I-II (and presumably III as well) they're gallavanting all over the galaxy with him. Furthermore, they're both pretty distressed about being on Tatooine (I think the term "God forsaken" is used) but that's where they're originally from. I know that droids can have memory wipes, but still this seems like a pretty important detail. Maybe they will be fried and their memories accidentally wiped in Episode III.

Here is an even better tidbit about this. In episode 4, Ben Kenobi specifically tells Luke he doesnt remember owning a droid when he meets C3PO and R2D2.

Dont tell me Ben got a memory wipe too :)

Obi-Wan was not the owner of either....

I personally liked the movie. Especially the part where yoda busted out his lightsaber, everyone in the theatre went crazy when he did. It got a bit confusing at parts, but overall it rocked.

I know this isn't Episode II related but its for Episode III and I dont' feel like starting a new thread...

Do you know who has to make an appearance in the next one as a bad guy..... Tarkin!!!

He also told Luke that Vader killed his father. The entire Star Wars lineup is filled with inconsistencies like that. It's the product of the films being made years apart.

Keep this in mind and I don't mean it as an insult:

fan = someone who enjoys watching the films
fanboy = someone who picks apart the films looking for plot flaws

He doesn't really interact with either of them and in this episode he has a r4 on his ship, so with so many droids in his life he could not remember. I can barely remember friends I had 10 years ago.

This is true, he could be lying to him as well about the droids.

Here

That wasn't the thing everyone was talking about. It was when he kissed Padme on Tatooine, and only their shadows were shown.

First,

Nobody even pushed the droids to the ground, although that would seem to be the easiest way.

Yes one of the female Jedi did in the arena battle scene. I only saw this once, though. But I guess the reason they don't do that more is beause the droid could just get back up and start firing, better to destroy the droid with the saber or reflected gunfire.

I thought the movie was great. It did feel a little rushed at times, but it was fun following the plot development. The scenes on Coruscant were great as was the car chase scene in the city. I like the sound effects of the silver ship in the beginning of the movie, the theatre I was in reverberated the sound was so loud. The video quality was not great, in some scenes Anakin looks fuzzy and its hard to make out his face. And the scenes that had a lot of blue in them (esp. the one where Padme is sleeping) seemed really fuzzy and coarse. I think George should shoot in a higher resolution for the next movie.

The best part about the movie were the action scenes, there were so many. And I think there were some powerful scenes in the movie, IE: the one in where Anakin's mother is buried. You can see him slipping towards the dark side, but what in the heck does Amidala see in him? He is so blatantly evil she should be alarmed, not falling in love. I guess Lucas depicted her as sorrowful over Anakin's mother's death, but I don't see where that would lead to a marriage. The scene where Portman defies Mace's order and goes after Obi Wan is the only one where her character showed any backbone at all, much different from EPI where she was queen and had a lot of depth.

Overall, a great movie. I hope to see it again, this time at a digital theatre.

Why doesn't R2 use his rockets in the Classic Trilogy.
R2-D2's Rockets
Good enough reason to hide the real one: when the original trilogy was made the technology wasn't there to make R2 fly around.

Concerning Qui-Gon's voice being heard I think this is a lot more important than just a neat audio trick. Remember in TPM how Qui-Gon's body didn't disapear? George Lucas said that why he didn't would be explained more in EPs II and III. It seems to me like Qui-Gon might not have been fully prepared to disapear because he had been tempted by the dark side, I believe Count Dooku was his trainer(?).

Yes, Qui-Gon was Dooku's Padawan. Your idea sounds plausible, since Vader/Anakin didn't disappear either, but he did show up as a ghost/whatever a dead Jedi is in ROTJ.

Okay I just saw it..
WOW! WOW! WOW! I can't believe how MUCH this movie rocked. YODA IS THA MAN!
That scene totally took me by suprise, I can't wait to go see it again with my wife, I think it was a good idea that I went to see if for the
first time by myself so I could really concentrate on it with no interruptions. ;) I really think that Lucas has outdone himself, I hardly noticed
JarJar in the film and was glad to see him developing threepio and R2's relationship. Jango's role suprised me as I have not been following
the books for some time but it really was neat to see some history surrounding BOBA. At the very end it shows Anakin and Padime getting hitched right?
That's what it lead me to believe anyhow. I wonder if the sith war could possibly tie in to the next film?

He never owned them at all. In Ep. I and II, 3PO was Anakins, and R2 was really Amidalas. In ANH, when Obi-Wan says, "I don't remember owning any droids" there's a slight smirk/grin, looking like some prior knowledge of them.

Re: the music, Lucas does a great job of using the themes. He changes around the Imperial march and uses it in several places throughout the movie. I liked his integration of the Duel of the Fates along with the regular theme. In ANH (Ep IV) it's much like an opera, where the music is tied to what character you're seeing, Luke and Vader each have a theme, that you hear fairely regularly. Even in Episode I he used the Imperial March a couple of times with Anakin.

and be careful where you see it, i saw it again today and the sound system sucked at this thaeter, which was newer. Those sonic depth charges that jango releases rocked the first time, but the second theater were weak. Plus the crowd makes a diiference on how you react to things, the second crowd were older and maybe didn't appreciate some of the humor. I must go again...$5 a pop why not..
