i've got my htpc in a place where i like it (doesnt have HDMI-CEC tho) but i want a linux drive for cuda stuff. Gonna install the 2nd os and hope I dont screw up win10

Good luck! I find modern versions of windows are super picky about paritioning, they also generate a bunch of misc partitions that will get in the way and if you touch them everything breaks. I'm sure there is a way to do it but I've never had good luck myself. Minute I try to touch anything it renders the system unbootable. If you don't want to chance it you're better off having a 2nd drive for Linux, make it primary, the boot loader will detect windows on the other drive and it will be a boot option.

Got ubuntu installed on a spare 1tb nvme. Looking good so far. The real tell will be if I can boot back into win10 on the 2tb nvme
