Waiting for the owls to return nef. One owl showed up at the nest site near my work three weeks ago and again on Monday but isn't there consistently. It looked like one of last year's young maybe looking to take over the nest from its parents. No sightings of the nesting pair yet. Owls hotting near my house but so far no one in the nest.

I found the new nest for the town pair. Hopefully get pics soon. The old nest tree was great for photography but lousy for owls, too exposed. The new nest (an old nest refurbished) is much better protected from the sun and weather which is great for owls but not as good for photography.

Mom is sitting on the nest near my house. Looking at pics for the past two years, it looks like the first week of April should be the target for chicks to make an appearance.

If you're going to have pop may as well have the real thing IMO. There's usually stuff even worse for you in the diet versions. I mean, they're all bad for you, but if you're going to have something bad for you have the better one.

This was the shelter's adoption pic for Oso -- ears back, ready to kill. The pic is why we adopted him. We never even got to meet Oso before we took him home as he was considered an "untouchable". He's a snugglebug and sleeps between us every night.
