Make the cut off at LA county, Orange county/Riverside county/San Diego county and Imperial county could make a new Southern California State....

That would be perfect.

I'd move. The hell with finishing school or debt, I'll move and figure it all out from there.

1) High COL location, the company usually ends up paying you more to compensate.

They often don't compensate enough to make up the difference. I remember looking at what my salary would need to be in San Fran and while it was higher, it was not high enough to compensate for the insane housing prices.

2) High COL locations are usually more interesting/appealing. Larger cities, more people, nicer weather, water access, et cetera.

San Fran and the central coast are cool places, but I can visit there a ton with the money I saved.

I LOL when I see people bragging about living in the bay area and then showing pictures of homes they paid "millions" for that would be, at the very most, $100K here or in most low to moderate real estate markets.

Ok, uncomfortable meeting time with boss. I need to inform him that one of his employees went off into a tirade in front of a group of people in a training room.

SF is just nuts. Same with NY and LA and DC.

I hate meetings like this. I am not a tattletale but she went off in front of a high-level person and if I were my boss, I'd like to hear it from my other employee first in case shit hits the fan.

That shouldn't even have to be a meeting IMO. That should be more of a knock on the door, "hey, you have a minute", then "just so you know...."

I went to his cube to chat, but he had meetings most days so I just scheduled a few minutes. He probably thought I was quitting. 😀
