A salary of $50,000 in Banetown, Massachusetts could decrease to $42,264 in Riverside, California

ugh

Well, lots of people live inland and drive to LA or Orange County to work.

There are lots of big companies to work at all over the place though.

Well, the freeways usually suck, there are some places you can go where its more spread out, and not so packed in.

Property taxes can suck a lot in some areas, HOAs in a lot of areas, sales tax is around 8%.

There are illegal immigrants in lots of places, and its pretty obvious, but nothing is done about it 99% of the time, and there is actually a huge backlash any time they deport people.

I like lots of open spaces, and water. You see the obvious problem.

Sales here is 6.25%, but at least we have NH 0% within 20 minutes. Goddamned HOA's, do not want.

And that sort of idiocy that drives a backlash to deportation is the type of Californian politics that makes me think the whole state is fucked up.

Yeah, there is lots of fuck ups, haha

I have Amazon for 0% sales tax, and there are places with no HOA or what they call a greenbelt which is basically not an HOA in the sense that you think of them.

The politics here pretty much suck though.

Now at Riverside's Wiki...

1) 360 panorama, it looks brown, dry, and dead. D:
2) 300k people, it's half the size of Boston! That's huge.
3) My county is 85% white, my town is 97% white. Riverside is half white, half Hispanic, and a quarter Asian/black (I don't know how the hell that works). Woo, diversity!

The people, and their attendant politics, really are the worst parts of CA. Nice weather, beautiful scenery... dragged down.

OK, went to gun range.
They are using 90 watt halogens, 3 in each of the 5 lanes. They get scalding hot instantly so I know they arent light efficient. Gonna have to replace them with something. Probably CFL's since they are cheaper. And they dont make replacement LED's powerful enough, at least not that I can find.

Well... if you want to count it, there is solid city all the way to LA from Riverside.

Its kinda like one huge ass city basically. So more like 5 or 6 million people.

I dont live IN Riverside, though I do work there. I live in south county, towards San Diego county, a lot more open down here, cleaner, etc.

Halogens are never really known for efficiency, but they do put out tons of light. CFL wattage equivalence is measured against incandescents, but halogens beat out incandescents. You're going to need some big CFL's I think.

Either that, or look for LED spotlights?

That's complete insane. No city should be that big! D:D:

So you'd be somewhere more towards Temecula to Salton Sea?
