I could write volumes about my wife's friend. In fact, I have mentioned her many times here as an example of what NOT to do. She is also the one that got an MBA and basically refused much of her tuition reimbursement. To top it off, she got it from a private school rather than IU in Indy, which was much cheaper and has a ranked program. So now, she has like $75K in student loans, makes maybe $40K, and can't find another job. She told a mutual friend last year that she was only targeting jobs "at $70K or more." LOL!

I even forwarded her two marketing jobs we had open here after she begged her entire group of friends in an email (twice) to help her find a new job. For a person in marketing, working where I work is a DREAM job -- your networking possibilities are endless and you get to work with giants in various industries. Play your cards right, and you could make big bank once you put in a few years and make some contacts.

Guess what? She claimed she applied but the "system didn't work." Bullshit. The system is nearly idiot proof. So, she is either REALLY dumb (doubtful) or she didn't apply. I couldn't have gotten her a job here but she was almost guaranteed an interview if I walked her resume up. I think she likes to wallow around in self-pity. At any rate, I don't feel a damn bit sorry for her and she won't get help from me in the future.

She, on the other hand, brought only her looks to the relationship, and that was a value that was decreasing. Thus, she became a depreciating asset, and accordingly, a marriage would be foolish from his perspective.

He did offer that he would entertain the prospect of a "lease" with her - a relationship spanning a few years.

Contact good male friend and explain the plan to him, ask him to call you on your cell phone 3 minutes later.
Run outside so that they don't have time to cover up, look distressed and tell your wife (while pretending the friend is not there, look at your wife in the eye but make sure to use your peripheral vision to get a good look of the friend) "honey, I have to rush to the hospital, male friend just had a stroke!".
They'll be shocked and while you walk to your car, your phone will ring, speak to your friend for a while, hang up and get back to your wife. Explain it was just a scare, look immensely relieved, say you have to go inside and drink some whiskey to calm down.

I'm far from rich but I honestly feel my situation has been improving steadily as I age and I think I'm going to peak around 45, and still have a great time until about 53. Not talking about wealth, but women.
