It's like growing up you have this idea in your head what it's like to be in a relationship, either instilled by you through your parents or just what you think your friends had as solid relationships.

You just have to learn to throw that shit out the window and find out what works for you. You can't have this mind set, oh a healthy relationship looks like this.

My best man at our wedding had a funny statement about our relationship (we lived together when I first met my wife), he said he knew we'd work out when he'd come home and see me playing WoW and she was on my bed reading a book. Later when she left he'd ask, she doesn't have any problem with you playing video games and not paying attention to her? I was like nope! He was in awe.

My wife is like that too. I can play video games or do my own thing and it doesn't bother her. Someone once was bashing people playing video games and asked my wife how she could tolerate me playing them, and she said "Why wouldn't I? I know where he is at and what he is doing and it isn't harming anyone or anything."

Exactly, it's a hobby like any other, as long as it's not detrimental to the relationship or the family (we have a 1yr and another due in July), who cares what you are doing.

I will not extend the same compliment to your wife, ICF, you've told me far too many stories that would contradict such a statement. :p

Who she chooses as friends is partially an extension of her own personality. Besides, the Christmas gifts failure? The friend in the hot tub?

Which Christmas gift failure are you referring to?

She thought it would be "weird" for me to be out there with them, and I kind of agree with that. That's why I went upstairs and looked out my window instead. :awe:

I think it was last year (2010), you listed some things you wanted, and ended up receiving clothing.

Well, okay then. At least you looked! :awe:

She's probably reading over his shoulder :p

Possibly, although he'd be less likely to make a remark about her friends then.

Now, RPD, on the other hand... that phrase "happily married" is most commonly used with sarcasm, or with the wife watching.

HELLO MRS. RPD!
