$3000 for a full turbo kit for an '01 Miata, and it looks like only a single scroll, giving up to 170 RWHP, versus the stock 105 RWHP.

That's for about a 2400 pound car.

COMPARISON: My Grand Prix weighed in around 3400 pounds, and, after the supercharger was disabled, put out about 160 FWHP.

COMPARISON: My G35x weighs in around 3400 pounds, and has around 220 AWHP.

So that $3000 turbo kit only gives 170 RWHP... but the design of it means in the future, it's pretty much all set to unbolt the original turbo, bolt in a new one (i.e. a $1500 twin-scroll), and go chasing 250+ RWHP.

Now, I like the 2001 Miata. One, I think the NA looks fucking horrendous, the NB is at least livable. Two, the 2001 has received significant suspension and build upgrades over the earlier NB's and the original NA's.

Unfortunately, the soulless fuckers running the DMV put far too much emphasis on emissions testing, safety regulations, blah blah blah. A turbo '01 might not pass inspection.

Unless maybe if the turbo can be unlinked for inspection, all the electronics set backwards, and then let it run. But the scanning computers might find something awry.

So they have a 170 RWHP, 180 RWHP, 250 RWHP, and 260+ RWHP. I think I can see a clear delineation between single and twin scroll. :p

Oh, interesting. The stock headlights include a projector on the outboard edge (probably single mode low beam), a halogen in the center (that'll be either single mode F2P/high, or dual mode fog & F2P/high), plus an inboard most light, I'd guess directional.

The car has amber side markers, which may be the entire directional, or assistive; it also has isolated fog lights.
