So the 2001 Miata was a significant mid-generation upgrade to the NB Miata. Bigger wheels, bigger brakes, stiffer body, heated seats, six speed transmission, improved suspension, and small engine tweaks, plus a minor facelift. That's a serious upgrade.
The 2005 NC gained more power on the motor, went up from 1.8 to 2.0 liters, gained 60 lbs (which is nothing), added projector factory lights, a better body styling, better interior, higher body all around too, and presumably marginally better handling.
143 HP at the crank, yeah, tiny. But it still does 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, which can match a Nissan Maxima VQ30DE from the same age. Please note, your ship weighs more than 92000 tons, the Miata weighs little more than a ton. Would you like me to do the kW/ton ratio?
But the 2001 Miata (which would probably take a while to find the right one of) would be likely to go for $7000, the 2005 Miata would go for more like $13000.

Also consider how much resources are needed to satisfy 2500 persons with 10 restaurants, casino, hospital, theater, pools, fitness and sports, etc. If a person was the size of a bacterium it may be possible for the car but it still doesn't float. :biggrin:

Yeah, it's not a fair comparison.
I was right though, even configured with ABS, spoiler, premium wheels, and the 6MT upgrade package, at a dealer, with 126k miles (which is probably twice of what I would want, and twice what I would probably find), it's $7600.
So with the mileage difference, but with consideration it probably won't be in perfect shape, maybe $7000, maybe $7500. After TTL, $8000, $8500 tops. Okay.

LOL at people bitching about SSD prices and relatively small capacity. They need to learn to manage storage properly and use the fastest disk(s) for tasks with high queue depths, etc.

I would prefer a huge SSD, because I like single drive solutions, it's easier to manage. A lot of programs don't make it easy to manage them across multiple drives.
But for the most part, I agree with you. The fast drive gets essential things that need speed, everything else goes on a mechanical. ESPECIALLY data storage.
And a 2006 MX-5, with ABS, leather, rear spoiler, premium wheels, 6MT, 2.0L I4, and 78k miles (again, double the real mileage figure) comes out to $14000... so my guess was $13k for an '05, thus, I was guessing pretty much dead on.
$14000, talk it down $500, TTL puts it right back up to $16000.
Thus, the five years newer creates nearly double the price, an $8000 gap.
