It would prevent threads in other "issues" forums regarding moderation.
Being old enough to do something is no excuse whether or not one should be able to swear. If profanity is not allowed in forums outside of OT then why don't they filter it? Additionally some words are filtered but the common ones (that cannot be said on radio/tv) are allowed.
