It's no mistake - check your cameras. Cheaper ones are made in China the better ones Japan. I have a Canon PowerShot 780IS that's made in China. The PowerShot SD1400IS is made in Japan. Neither have the heft of the SD20 from 2004 though. The 5MP SD20 takes outstanding pictures in bright light, not so much in dim venues. (but it does not try to mask its obvious sensor limitations with really shitty looking post processing either!)

Getting back to Heath co. though...

Of course there's going to be discrete parts made in China. If they used really high quality components and manuals written with the quality of the former company they would be priced right out of the market.

And price is what drives the market unfortunately. Quality suffers dramatically. These products (particularly tools) are copied well from the real thing but as any person that uses tools for a living knows the copies just don't hold up to day to day use. (and abuse!)

There are no Nissan production facilities in China. Multiple Nissan facilities also have it noted that they do engine castings themselves.

Gotta love the (lack of) thinking about adding 10% ethanol to gasoline.
It lowers miles/gallon driven, can also harm fuel delivery components in older systems not designed for this alien substance in the fuel, etc. I guess they don't think about those things. (or driving up the cost of foodstuff!)
