And that's cost before the soaps, the cleaners, polishes, sealant, wax, and general purpose brushes, sponges, and applicators.

So it seems that the past option is to find a sponge, use the soap that's here, and wash the car, then use the wax that's here. I'll probably kill the wax by the end of the winter.

That leaves the swirls in the paint still, without polishing, no sealant, mediocre wax, that sort of thing. Stuff to address in the spring.

The wax I have will at least help protect the paint through the winter, and as long as the paint is safe, it's more important to do a retrofit than keep it looking pretty.
