"We recommend you install the June Cumulative Update immediately after installing SP1."

The cumulative updates, for some incredibly stupid reason, are all hotfixes. Meaning you can't download them directly -- you have to go through this convoluted process of "requesting" them and then clicking a link in an email you receive to download them. How fucking stupid.

Even better was that the June 30 Sharepoint 2010 update wouldn't download in IE9, but is downloading fine in Chrome. :awe:

That has always been their policy with enterprise product hotfixes, but I have no clue why they consider cumulative updates that they recommend everyone install as "hotfixes." On the bright side, it looks like they at least stopped double password protecting the hotfixes.

Ah, I have yet to dabble in the enterprise side of the computer world

Even more entertaining is the fact that the June 30 Cumulative Update for SP 2010 is 996 MB in size. The service pack? 387 MB.

Way back in a job I worked at in the late 90s and early 2000s, Micros (a big P.O.S. company) was a big customer and I went to one of their facilities in Washington. A hot female account manager was with me and that was one of the few times (if ever) that I was being hit on and just didn't get it!

with that level of responsibility why are you not just starting your own place?

From the flight deck -- SQL 2008 R2 configuration settings have been entered and we're about ready for install takeoff. Please place your seats in the upright position with your tray tables stowed. Flight attendants, arm and crosscheck.

Well, I am, kinda. GF uncle opening new place. He was in business with his father...then found out his 70 year old father had an entire family on the side! Needless to say, he left the venture with his father (was successful for 20+ years). He got 3 investors, found a spot, designed the place. All he needed was someone to run it. I fixed his computers once, so he thought I was an IT guy. Then he found out I managed a restuaraunt. He wants to open another concept soon after, he will need a multi-unit supervisor, and that is the ultimate goal.
