56v for Ego. No problem with the power output. I bought the machine mid November and charged it up then. Apparently, after a month of no use, the batteries start to drain down to improve their longevity. That’s why I ran out of juice. Lesson learned.How many volts? See Squirrel's post. State of the art these days is 80v. That's what seems to get translated into torque at the blade.
And yes, you are correct. Wasn't it just a few years ago that it was, IDK, say 40v? It really does feel that way.

I actually ran across that video when researching battery electric snow blowers! Can’t remember why I chose Ego over the others. I finished that research 3+ months ago and then waited for a sale.I bought the Greenworks 80v one last year. So far so good, but we have yet to get an actual decent snow fall since I bought it. The most I may have done with it is like a foot at once.
