You might be able to make it more quiet by using grommets of sorts when mounting it. Digikey has all sorts of sizes, made for wires going through cases, but they work nice for screws too.

I've got a badass case. Look up the Define 7 from Fractal Design. It has sound deadening material on the top, sides and front panels. It's got 140mm quiet intake fans X2 and one for exhaust. The hard drive mounting brackets use grommets. I've been doing this stuff for 20 years now. I like quiet over extreme performance. That noisy drive was hardly audible with the sides off of the case. But when it was writing in the dock.... noisy as hell.

Well, today is my wife's birthday. Went to her gravesite for the first time since her passing. It was a little more emotional than I thought it would be. It's also going to be my final resting spot, as we will be buried together. I was going to lie down next to her when I realized I had disturbed an ant mound. LOL.

I decided to open Outlook on my work computer. I should not be looking at email when I'm not on the clock but that's ok, by the time it opens I'll be on the clock lol.

Seriously though I just need to login to the local site to check the schedule. They started this new thing now where they'll change the schedule around without telling anyone. One of my coworkers got caught with that and he did not show up for a shift because the schedule he had he did not work. Boss even had the audacity to ask him to make up his time. It's BS to change the schedule without telling people. If your PC is at the office it's not like people should be expected to go in the office on their days off to check the schedule.

I slept until noon. It was an emotional visit to the cemetery yesterday. But some hockey and beer made me feel pretty good. The Bruins dominated just like I predicted.

There's a lake front (sort of, there's 500 feet of crown land to the lake) that's 2 hours from here that is still for sale. decided what the heck, going to go see it. Called the realtor to get more info on the property but got transfered to another temporary one who is taking over and his first reaction is "why are they even asking this much?". I suppose that's a good sign for being able to put in a low ball offer lol. They're asking 60k but I'm thinking of asking like 40k and see where it goes. It's a bank repo though, so he needs to find out more info to see what's going on and what it entails etc... so there may be red flags there.

Didn't need it, but there's this hockey game tonight. So, I'm checking out the beer isle at the grocery store. It's all picked through. Then I spot a six pack of Dallas Blonde. Not too bad local brew.

I go to self-checkout and save the alcohol for last, knowing that the cashier has to ok the purchase. I'm waiting for her to bypass the age verification check. I look over at her and she's giving me the look like she was waiting for my ID. I look back and say, "Really??"

I was carded regularly until I was 45. But I'm 54 today. Then I was like, "All right!" Now the last time I got carded has a better story behind it.

I bought wine the other day and the cashier gave me the "I'm going to need to see ID" look. I recognize that look before they even ask, so I pulled it out and showed her lol.

I usually wait since I'm curious, but I ended up taking it out when I took out my credit card so I just showed it anyway since it was out, but pretty sure she was going to ask. Sometimes I get away without being carded but it's about 50/50. Not bad to look under 19 at 35 lol.

Can't remember the last time I got carded. But then I don't really buy smoke and only get booze as gift to other or going to a bbq.
