Wouldn't make any diff lol
I already said that. I still ordered the 6Gb/s drive, not the 3Gb/s drive. it's not like this is mission critical. I'm in no hurry. Do it right the first time.

Well, drive #2 is a lot quieter. But from what I've read, it's normal for this drive to be really noisy. Maybe the difference is the data I'm copying to it. I hate noise.
Mount the drives in a different box and put that in another room. Problem solved.
That's why I put all my server stuff in the basement.![]()
My server runs quiet. These are just my thrash drives in my main rig.

Put your computer in a hush box then.
You seen my build. It's dead quiet. Plus, quiet case. I'm not sure how it will sound in my case. I'm waiting on the replacement drive. If it's acoustics are similar to Disc #2 then I may send back the noisy drive. I don't care if it's enterrprise. Disc #2 is a lot quieter, even though I can hear it still.
Enterprise drives don't care about generating noise since they go on servers.
If you are just going to run then in the usb dock then they will be noisy. Not being fastened to the case would make it vibrate. May reduce life as well.
