May as well use the tools at your disposal. The media loves that stuff. :p

So they just outright decided to cancel your card? I wonder if you raised any kind of flags by spending so much, maybe they think you're a business? But still I did not figure credit card companies cared about that.

No I am going to cancel the card. The supervisor was supposed to call me back. Nothing yet.

All because my wife's name has only one letter and apparently that is not acceptable to their compliance people even though it's her name on SIN card...

None of it is business type, though they wouldn't care even if it is. I use a different CC for business.

Appointment with lawyer on Wednesday to go over title search and other stuff. If all checks out I will pull the trigger.

A bit of a fixerupper but it has lot of potential, and buying it for the property more than the cabin. It's practically ready for camping though. Just need to put in solar.

That's messed up. 1 letter name might not be common, but no reason to take issue at that.

The difference is I pay off the CC at the end of month.

Yeah I wish I had that kind of money, I owe around that much on the house. The thought of paying off the mortgage in a month...

I do have some stocks that will help pay a chunk of it one covid is done, hopefully in a few years. Way I see it, it's a better investment than a car, and you'd pay about that much for a car out the door.

I can understand it being flagged, but a chat should resolve it. To actually not allow one letter name in the system is ludicrous.

Actually it will be weird to see the credit line higher than the mortgage lol. Interest rate is only 1% higher though. I am paying minimum on the mortgage now so rest will go to credit line.

"I'm just calling to report that my drop got hit by a backhoe and my internet is not working so will need someone to come fix it"

Outsourced tech support: "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

This was security so I doubt it was outsourced. The guy sounded Canadian. I understand he didn't have the power to fix this, but it should have triggered some flag when a big spender is not happy.

Thought that was Cisco logo for a sec lol. That's insane. I'm lucky to have a $500 in my name at the end of a month. Especially after the property taxes come out. It's actually why I am buying another property in an unorganized township. Eventually make that my permanent home. Will need to figure out an income situation before I do that though.

Even toying with getting a super cheap apartment here once I get the place to a state that all my belongings are there and I feel it's secure and year round livable. Then I could keep my job. Sleep in the apartment when I'm on shift, then go to the property when I'm off. Though I don't know if I'd like keeping my permanent place of residence vacant that much. I'm better off trying to find a job that does not require me to be somewhere or something else that is passive.

I think I'll get two cards, one with no forex juat for my US shoppong and the Tangerine World MC. Looks like decent reward for my usage pattern.

Two cards probably makes sense for you. I personally only have one credit card, I tend to use that and sometimes use the debit card. I'm not even sure what my credit card limit is, I think it's like 15k but I can't imagine ever putting that much on it lol.
