That's a beefy looking alternator!Alternator died today. I had a clue yesterday. When I was pulling out for work in the morning, I heard a low whine. I didn't hear it when I opened the hood, but I did when in the car. I thought that it could be the alternator due to the change in pitch with the change in RPMs.
This morning, my battery started failing and I just made it to the auto parts store where it died. They charged the battery up and run a test. Alternator failed.
I ordered a new alternator with a lifetime warranty. Figured I had to bite the bullet. I just bought the battery a couple of months ago. Did the work myself. Feels good when you get done and cleaned up.
I had to take off from work to fix the car. I need it to be operable. Not something I could put off. It was nice being done with the repair and all my errands and back at home three hours earlier than I would be normal for me.

Wow weather outside is decieving. No sun and 20 degrees. Decided to go for a walk and within 5 minutes I regretted not having shorts on. Had to change when I got home. It's a very hot 20 degrees even without the sun.
I have a feeling it will be a fight for the thermostat at work tonight.
